What kind of mini-mobile are you driving? Guns don't take up that much space and I'd certainly pack at least one extra shotgun in the event one of your guns fail (it happens :().
To answer your question as to which shotgun I'd choose if I were on the trip you've described, it'd probably be my 12 gauge Benelli Super Black Eagle II. Relatively light weight, very reliable, multiple chokes and a 3 1/2" chamber make it a very versatile shotgun indeed.


Good advice. Every year I go in an annual grouse hunt with 5-7 guys. I am the only one who brings an extra shotgun...... all I have gotten is grief for the past eight years. Maybe one year it will pay off?

But if you look at it we're actually bringing 5 guns. Two of us are using double barreled, double triggered shotguns. ;)

You must not know what the rules are: You'll never need the extra gun. Shotguns only break when you don't bring a backup. ;)
