I have a beretta u22 and it is having feeding issues. It seems that every time I try to load 22lr in it it grabs the round starts to feed and then games about a 1/2 inch before closing action for full charge. I can tap the back with my hand and it closes then fires. Ejects perfectly fine but when it closes, it stops that 1/2 inch again. What can I do Or is this something worth trading the gun in for?

20171021_202036.png Try a different brand of ammo.
Clean and apply Break Free CLP or Rem oil to the slide rails and contact points.
See that the sight rib is not dragging on the slide.
Oil magazine.

Dry guns dont work well.

I have done several types of ammo, and two magazines. I will check the slide and rails for drag points, thanks for the start in finding a fix

This is the feed issue, what it looks like...

There are no bars, no slide or rail damage , shinny smooth, the ramp seems fine. It could be the ammo I guess, I have done Federal, remington, and American Eagle rounds and different weights too.

The case head has to slide up the bolt face freely. The extractor may need adjustment?
Blow back types have been designed with no extractors.

Not a common problem, but the rim diameter has to fit in the bolt face slot. Check clearance.

That could be an a issue because when Took my beretta u22 to the range had many issues with feeding, the ramp is clean, I have used several ammo types and wieghts, use two different mags. there does not seem to be any barbs or grinding parts inside, rails are clean too. The picture is where the feeding stops and then if you smack the back the feed will finish and fire, eject but stop at the same spot for the next round, so any suggestions would be appreciated , thanks so much for your help

What if there are no ejection problems, smack the back to shut the changer and fire fine, slide goes back and then goes foward and stops at the same spot again, it's like a smack repeat.

The cartridge rim has to slip under the extractor, as it slides up the bolt face. If the rim hits the extractor, it stops and jams. This is my best guess.

Some guns are just designed wrong and will never work right. The S&W .32 automatic pistol was one. Had serial #50. Less the 1000 were made.
