The fairgrounds are surrounded by a large parking lot. Drive in to be dropped off.
Been a while, but it's mostly the same as usual. If bringing a firearm I think they like them empty slide back ziplocked open. Carry is another matter as too many will pocket a gun then drag it out to show for a trade and it's loaded, which isn't good etiquette at a show. That's where the majority of ND's happen nationwide. So, don't. All ATF rules apply, some FFL's will be on site complete with communications to NICS on the spot.
Lots of folks bring in stuff and vendors are known to call out above the general roar if the owner is interested in selling - which is the point. You will likely only get half way thru by lunch, which is available grill style at upscale prices. Bring water. Expect a jostling carnival atmosphere of semi knowledgeable folks. OK is a state with legal MG ownership so full auto may be on display. Despite recent events, it's not "illegal" to own full auto. That was a deliberate misstatement by the media ignorati and "ghost" anti gunners.
Carry your wallet in your front pocket and expect to here the PA announce a gun is missing from a table, make model caliber. Thieves are now working the shows.
Much like yo momma taught you, look with your eyes and don't Harvey Weinstein the guns without permission first. OP likely knows this but others stumbling on the thread in the future might need to. If a vendor is really jammed up surrounded by looky loos, strollers, and hangers on, the word is patience - you patiently out wait the others who then finally give up and move on. Often it's just the new popular stuff which the Fudds haven't seen before. A lot of them don't surf the net.
To get to the mall shopping it's 50 blocks south. Tulsa is a major metro area with most of the normal chain franchises along with it's own unique private stuff. You will likely find more military surplus in the show than at the few retailers located further south, and a lot of the local gun shops or from just out of town will be in the show trying to move the slow sellers - like, old stainless S&W autos. PD turn ins are still dirt cheap.
Obviously work and life have kept me away far too long, but I have been working tables at that show long ago, both private and as a "recruiter" for the local AR unit on 11th street just north of the grounds. I've seen it go from the days when German militaria was huge, with Vietnam finally catching up, then the advent of personal walki talkies with their characteristic beeps, to cell phones. Teams are now common where they talk back and forth to review price and grade, they will be ahead of the power curve early on and snap up the collectible stuff. A lot of it is then repriced and put on their table. It's not quite the days of Uncle Fred selling off his hunting gear or memorabilia anymore. Expect retailers. Doesn't really spoil things as a lot of that is done Friday night on setup anyway. Always has been.
I need to retire and enjoy life again.
