What was the first semi auto handgun you ever shot, and what was the first one you purchased?

First one I ever shot was probably my dads Ruger MK1 when I was around 6 or 7, first one I ever bought was a .45 Gold Cup in about '78.

First I ever shot was a Stallard JS9 (before they became Hi-Point) 9mm. Dad said he couldn't pass up a $150 9mm.

First I ever bought was a Beretta 92FS, at the first gun show local in my area following my 21st birthday.

Can't remember which type of handgun was first tried out.

My first acquired handgun was the superb Sauer 38H, bought in 2013. Still have it, excellent ergos in slender hands.

I purchased a Springfield 1911 GI in .45ACP, but traded it before I ever even fired it. The first I actually fired was a 92FS.

I bought a S&W Model 59 double stack 9mm about 30 years ago. Hated it right away, but kept it a few months. I happily traded it in on a Colt Series 70 1911 which I carry today. I never touched a 9mm again until I recently bought a Walther P4. A single stack that I do like.

First semiauto I shot was my mom's cousin's nasty looking rattler 1911. First gun I ever shot, period.
First semiauto I bought was a Browning BDA380. Next one was an AMT Back-up 380 with an amazingly stiff trigger that finally was reduced to a tolerable level. What couldn't seem to be fixed was it's feeding issues. Poof!...it was soon gone.

first held: browning highpower that my dad liberated and used as an mp in europe 1944-45. he had a leather shoulder holster custom made for it for a carton of cigarettes. it was apparently stolen by a “trusted” handyman when my dad was gravely ill before he died.

first shot: tapped out army m1911 during training in early 1970s. sour experience with lots of yelling turned me into a revolver guy for 40 years.

first bought: ruger sr22. easy to fieldstrip. mags painless to load. handy. eats anything.

The first semi-auto that I fired was a .25 acp pocket pistol that I found in the arm of an old hide-a-bed couch that I was demolishing for its hardware. It was loaded, of course. I fired all five rounds at targets of opportunity and couldn't get any more. I'm pretty sure that either my dad or my uncle stole it and sold it. I was seven years old.
My first purchased semi-auto is a Ruger Mark I Target. I still have and use it.

First shot 1911 in the Army first bought 1911 Remington UMC in the 60s & still have it and a few newer ones.
