I purchased a new Youth axis in 223 with weaver scope. Scope is nothing great but I got it for $319 with a $100 rebate bringing me down to $219 invested.

This rifle is for my Oldest daughter but was wondering if anyone knew if the stocks interchanged. Can I later put a full size stock on if it no longer needs to fill a "youth" roll?

I am not sure if Savage still does this but there should have been a coupon in the box for a rebate when getting a full size stock. I bought a Savage Axis in 7mm-08 in youth length but eventually traded it. I am sure I still have that coupon around though.

If it didn't come with a coupon the answer is still yes. You should be able to put a full size stock on it when she gets bigger.

Awesome, thanks, and I'll have to check for the coupon after Christmas, I looked the gun over in the gunshop and it's now back in the box and will remain that way till she opens it on Christmas.

It's just the LOP that's different, so you can buy a longer stock. I'd recommend replacing the stock with a Boyd's or if you have some time, you can reinforced the factory stock. I added two metal rods and epoxy. I also added Great Stuff to the stock to fill the stock.

Depends on the model. The Savage youth rifle I bought had a 20" barrel where the adult rifle had a 22" barrel.

You should be able to replace with a full size one. Would be a GREAT time to get a Boyds and do away with all the Savage plastic stock issues. My full sized Axis has 2 aluminum arrow shafts and epoxy in the forearm for stiffening, great stuff and 4oz of lead in the butt stock for sound deadening and balance. If its a Krap-ska scope I'd replace it and the factory rings / bases. That being said my .223 will shoot under .7 for 5 shot groups at 100yds.
