this is one of my favorite knivies in my small collection. I got it in Africa on one of my hunting trips(well used when I got it off a tracker), it was made by stuart smith a African knife maker and his early mark was a anvil stuck on the right rear side of the blade. I have dressed animals in Africa and here with it. the blood on the handle is from a buck I killed last Monday. eastbank.

Sorry, I won't be posting pictures of my knives.

I don't have enough knowledge about all the various knife designs on the market to be sure that the knives I have aren't clones/design ripoffs of other knives out there. Nor am I aware of a consensus of what constitutes a clone/design ripoff that would allow me to be certain that a similar design is or isn't actually a clone/ripoff in the cases where I am aware of similar designs.

I'd rather avoid the accusations of being immoral by proxy for supporting makers who engage in the practice of making clones/ripping off other knifemaker designs. I just don't feel like the fun of posting some pics of knives I enjoy owning and using would be worth the irritation.

Not pictured are a bunch more moras, opinels, a few hatchets, and a tramotina machete or 3...

Wow, very impressive! Please share some of the details that went into creating it.

Wow, very impressive! Please share some of the details that went into creating it.

Started this one around '04 originally with stag scales. I misdrilled the socket head clearance hole and using a 1-72 screw to fix the boo-boo didn't set well. Read that I went through. That would mean having to do the other handle scale the same and the mix of 0-80 and 1-72 screw wasn't my idea of clean. Put it aside and pulled it out a few months back about a fix. Decided the mokume and carbon fiber may be a good combo to try. The knife has another issue where I was blending the blade to body and took a bit to much off above the thumb stud countersink.

One of those situations where life is humming along, next moment cursing from the lameness of a moment that ruins it. ;) Managed to fix the handle scale boo-boo but created another. LOL. Stuff happens so I have a few "learned experiences" over the years. ;)

Beautiful work @RA40 , That folder is right up my alley! Simple silhouette, clean lines and traditional materials.

Nice job!

I'm not a fan of ATS34, but that's just because so many bead blasted blades freckled. My polished ones have been fine.

Thanks for the kind words. I enjoy the tinkering aspect in creating these.

I've done a few blasted finish blades when it was trendy. I have ~ 200' of 440C bought from a maker that retired from the craft. Don't know if I'll use it. I find this a nice steel to work with and use even though out of flavor in these times. Been pondering making a fancy dagger but IDK. That's a lot of work and potential frustration. LOL.

Merry Christams to my fellow shooters and knife addicts. :)
