well i full resized some 30-06 brass 300 to be exact. after a complicated string of unfortunate events . when i reseated the dillion decapper i set it down to damn far. the end result was a pushed in the top of the primer pocket. after much deliberate cursing and swearing up and down the street. i was gonna throw it out(actually send it into freedommunitions) a friend said i should be able to use a swager 600 from dillion and it should reform the pocket. i guess my question is before i go run off and spend 120 bucks is it worth it and will it work. buying tools never bothered me but i dont wanna get my hopes up for nothing. thanks in advance.

It should work if the webs are not too badly deformed. I would not try and use a primer pocket uniformer as that will cut out part of the web when the base is returned to shape.
For 300 brass I would go with the RCBS version. It mounts to the press and has a pin on the inside that will do the same thing as that Dillon for about 1/3 the price. It is not as handy to use and should probably be used in a single stage or turret press, but for the amount you have to do---seems more cost effective. Just remember to set up whichever one you choose with a piece of good brass and the webs should be pushed back into shape. Also the brass will have to be sorted by headstamp and adjusted accordingly as the webs are usually a different thickness between brands.

ETA: Or you could get a piece of rod that fits into the brass snugly and clamp it into a vise. Then drop the brass down over it. Get a smaller pin or punch that just fits into the primer pocket and a hammer and gently tap until the pocket base is flat again. May take a couple to get the hang of how hard to hit it without hurting the web but it will be a cost effective option for sure.

Thats a heck of a offer. A couple USPS flat rate boxes there and back is a lot cheaper than 120.
And that is a prime example of why THR is the best forum out there. Might include something “extra” in that flat rate shipping box to repay the kindness. Even though it want asked for or even expected. ‘‘Tis the season after all.

I’m not sure how the Dillion primer pocket tool works. But I’ll throw out the Lee de-burring tool has done wonders for me. I believe they can be purchased for under 5 dollars and hooked to a drill if you have one. Check it out, it may or may not help your situation.

Reloading is learned through experience, most mistakes I have made I have retained.

thank you for your guys offer but i just sent them into freedommunitions for brass credit.
