hi guys,
the LGS has a 10% off sale this PM only for anything in the store, including reloading supplies.
currently i have some RAM TAC, Varget and CFE223 and was looking for another suggestion to try.
kinda' short notice but didn't get the flyer until last night.
as always, thanks for the help.

What weight bullets you using? Most of my .223 loading is 25 grains H335 and 55 grain soft point. works plenty good enough for me in both my AR and bolt rifle.

748 , blc2 , 8208, 4166,
223 works well with many powders
I do prefer TAC myself

just started reloading.
loading for an ATH Rock River AR15 , 18" barrel, .223 Wilde chamber. 1:8 twist
55 gr. FMJBT (mil-surp from Wideners and RMR and some Hornady) and 62 gr soft point boat tail (RMR) and 62gr hollow point (Midsouth/ Hornady).
have some 77 gr nosler hollow points but haven't had much success with them so far (accuracy wise).
thanks for the suggestions.

TAC is a good choice. You might want to try H335 or AA2230 since powder is on sale. I use a lot of H335 because I got a great deal on almost 15 pounds of it but there are many good powders available these days.

HHmm to try maybe one of these H335, 8208XBR, BLC(2) all meter well thru a measure.

Personally, I like IMR4064 and IMR 3031 for the AR-5.56. There are a lot of choices out there.

Good Luck

My choices would be (and have historically been) IMR-4198, IMR-3031, Winchester 748, IMR-4064 and Benchmark, in that order.

I'm using IMR 4064, Because I have quite a bit and it works good. hdbiker

I like Accurate 2230 for 55 grain bullets and Varget for 69 grain bullets. W748 is always a good choice.

I would recommend trying H335 for the light bullets and CFE223 on pretty much everything. My gun loves the 55 grain H335 combo. I prefer to shoot 75 grain at distance so I found the CFE223 works pretty well.

So many people pushing W748... I might have to try it!

I've always been a H335 guy for the .223. I've tried IMR3031 and IMR4895, but neither of those worked as well as H335 with 55grn bullets.

I've had good luck with it. It's $5/ lb more than h335 around here, so I've settled on 335.

I’d suggest holding off on more powder for now and work on more load development with Varget. I’ve had outstanding results with 55g and 69g with that powder.

You may have to weigh each charge as it doesn’t meter all that well, but the accuracy is worth it.

Hmmm no love for RL15?

The only 2 powders I've tried are Varget & RL15.
Both work so well, I haven't found a need to stray.

55gr BT bullets, AR15A1 20" barrel, 1in9 twist & AR4 Carbine 16" barrel, also 1in9 twist.

I like the performance of the AA2230 and it's clone xterminator. It's convenient that they are the same my local source will usually have at least one of them in stock.
