Did good this season.

Got a doe at about 70 yds with the .300 WinMag I won at my clubs gun bash.

A few days later, I scored this 8 pt in my back yard. He was spooked by the garbage collector truck.
Although it was rifle season, I opted for a crossbow because its in a residential neighborhood.
30 yds behind my house.

Thankful he stayed out of the windshield. Be careful folks, I glanced away from the road for all of half a second, talk about perfect timing. wish I had a picture of him but he was gone by the time i turned around to look for him, big boy with a nice rack.

Ever hear the song "Second week of deercamp?" Ya, been there, done that, glad no one was hurt!

Appreciate it, I'll have to look that up. For a while I was really chapped about the truck, but the reality set in that my Son and Myself are safe. Insurance will fix the truck and we drove home in one piece with with one more adventure under our belt.

We had five deer drives today . On the second drive I had a 4pt buck and doe run by within 15 feet of me and I passed on him . On the third drive I had two doe's run within 10 feet of me and on the last drive I had a turkey run within 40 yards of me before she saw me .

Then when I was leaving I saw this Red Tailed Hawk , I think it must have been injured .

Pulled the sd cards yesterday. Had 6 different bucks on one camera but Mr.7 and one of the 8's have already dropped their horns. It is amazing to me that out of the three years that I have hunted this farm the deer have shed their antlers this early. Three years ago I had bucks with antlers in February. The last two years they have dropped in December. Don't know why.

I only rode the ATV from the barn to 2 cameras yesterday at midday and still saw 14 deer. Our 3 day Christmas season opens tomorrow.

Brought some wounded veterans down for a pig hunt. This little boar is the only thing I've been a part of killing this year. They had a good time, but I'm gonna have to get in the deer stand next week. The rut finally started for us.

I think that hawk was defending a kill. Ive seen it before. I was quail hunting and saw a hawk acting similarly to your pic. The bird dog approached him and he rolled onto his back, baring his talons at the dog, and revealing a half-plucked quail!
