Yup. Got one along side the short barrel S&W model 69.
The 2-3/4” S&W model 69 is an ounce or two lighter and has a better trigger, plus you can shoot .44 Magnums, if so inclined. It is also trimmer with fewer blocky edges. I changed out the front sight for a tritium night sight. I experimented with a C&S rough duty fixed rear but couldn’t get it regulated so switched back to adjustable rear since photo taken. I also have the 4.2” barrel model 69 that I carry as a hunting sidearm. I replaced the factory sights with XS Express Sights and I like them so well, I will put them on the short barrel model 69. Those sights are easy to acquire in great haste. It is a sweet gun.
The GP100 3” comes with better sights out of the box and balances well in the hand. The factory grips feel good in my hand. I will keep the factory sights.
All in all, the Model 69 was cheaper than the Ruger, but the grips and sights on the Ruger are better than the out of the box 69.
The action on my 69 is smoother and I tend to shoot it better. The GP100 is not as smooth but will shoot in. Both are excellent woods carry guns and with appropriate antipersonnel ammo would make excellent PD guns. Between the two I prefer the 69.
I have carried both in an OWB opentop Galco pancake holster under a light vest and jacket. They do not print. I also use a Miami Classic shoulder rig with speedloader carriers for concealed carry under a winter coat for faster access.
The Ruger is on top, S&W 69 on bottom.
