Of course they did.

After all, as soon as you got your license, you might have run out and boarded a plane for the Pakistani Tribal Areas and been radicalized. Or maybe you started spending your weekends with Tim McVeigh.

Never occurred to them to ease up on their investigation process. After having the permit of nearly fifteen years, they still interviewed me to make sure I was "morally fit".

You never know who's going to be morally fit after 15 years. ;) You could have been radicalized without even knowing it.

It's just a socialistic system with half the state working for the state and calling it the full employment act. The Chinese and Russians do that also.

The one thing I always here is "as California goes, so goes the nation." Fortunately, that is wishful thinking for liberal leftists, as Arizon is right next door, and we improve our firearms laws every year. We work hard to keep what we have and others are right - the influx of idiots from cali and Chicago are a real problem, as they walk in expecting to be treated like kings for deigning to come here at all, and then insisting we change our laws to the crap they ran away from. However, we've been holding that back well, and making advances, so all is NOT lost.

340PD is agree that part of us is lost. Unfortunately those from the West Coast and North East are infiltrating the remaining free states and changing those states to mirror where they come from. In Virginia, northern Virginia drives statewide politics and controls the elections as they have most of the population. Elect politicians who love high taxes, soft on crime, restrictive guns laws, more handouts, etc, etc,. and the rest of use have to pay the price for them. Not sure that anywhere is safe anymore.
You can be safe, Unfortunately it involves moving a few hundred miles to your right. Not easy to do but someday you will wish you had.

Only three states absolutely refuse to issue carry permits to it's residents. New Jersey, Maryland and Hawaii. You cannot can't to move to another county or to another town in order to get a carry permit, your only option is to move out of state....

As bad as New York State and California is, at least you have a chance to get a carry permit if you live in the right county and jump through enough hoops.

In Massachusetts, if you live in the right town and a sensible police chief. You can get a carry permit...

NJ, MD and HI you don't have any chance....

Yep.
But, having lived in one of those and next to another, moving to another, and "Free"-er state, is not that hard to do... :)
Oh, and forgot to mention, being born in the state of the original post.

Came back to :) for the posts with quotes on California worrying about moral fitness. If I "Like'ed" them instead, Homeland Security might infer I'm in league with radicals. :)

I'm afraid California will provide a contemporary history lesson of what happens when the middle class and small businesses are absent. Those are what's leaving that state.

Living where my right to carry is unquestioned, while fondling my thirty round magazines feels great. This state also appreciates the businesses I brought with me, asking for a fraction of the taxes.

I grew up in Fairfax, and had to leave as it was killing me.

I don't understand why people come from hell holes and then make a nice place like Northern Va used to be just like the place they came from.

If you've read any of my posts, you know I'm very worried about how the CARPET BAGGERS in VA are ruining the state. This last election should scare the hell out of us as the new governor wants one gun a month purchase limits, 10 round magazine limits and a ban on ARS. If we don't do something NOW, he'll get it soon. Then it's on to the rest of the CA nonsense.
