I sent in my Remington 700P under recall. No big deal, followed instructions to a T and had it picked up by UPS. Shop fixed it in 2 days and sent it back via UPS. Email from shop and UPS states ADULT 21 YEARS OR OLDER SIGNATURE REQUIRED, which is definitely what I wanted. Got home from work and there is a Package from UPS at my front door. No one signed for the package! My rifle sat at my front door for 3 hours.:fire:

Glad I got my rifle back, but not so happy they just left it at the door. I looked at the tracking and it said signed by my last name. BS!

My friend actually sent in his rifle too, I'm going to ask if they left it at his door.

Had a similar experience with fedex. Came home one night my neighbor said he had my package, didn't think I wanted it getting wet so picked it up off the lawn. Said the driver didn't even stop just threw it towards the house. Was my gp100 I sent in to get the rear sight fixed.

Sorry, don't mean to make light of that, but I chuckle to myself when I imagine the driver just tossing your gun out the window like a newspaper.

Another benefit of living in a rural community. Most are on a first name basis with the UPS guy.
Many times he recognized my truck and flagged me down to give me a package and save himself some miles.
He even ask my advice on what to get for a carry gun.
In transition now, our UPS friend retired, getting to know the new guy.

Call the 1-800 line, file a complaint, and ask to have the local depot supervisor call you back. It's the only way that this will get fixed.

(In my case, it took seven complaints -- and ignoring their helpful suggestions that I "should have the packages shipped to a different address" or "call ahead to see if the normal driver is on vacation.")

UPS had no idea what was in the package. Call and complain if you wish, but they get 100 calls from people complaining when they DON'T leave a package on the door step than from guys who complain that they did.

Retailers use both UPS, Fedex, and Usps to deliver stuff. While I do not want to anger the driver (wouldn't want him to try to mess with future deliveries), I feel this situation needs to be rectified. I'll come up with a political response.

Actually ... UPS does know which packages contain firearms - they ask. I'm guessing the driver short changed attention though.
Wrong.
There is no identifier in the UPS/FedEx/USPS systems to allow a shipper to note on his label that the shipment is a firearm.
While UPS/FedEx require telling their employee that you are shipping a firearm they are forbidden by Federal law from affixing a label saying "I'm a gun".

I've had both UPS & FedEx leave guns (that required Adult Sig) on my porch. One call to the hub supervisor reminding him doing that violated Federal law and their policy cut that nonsense out real quick.

I had to send in a new Win 94 awhile ago to the factory. I found it propped up on the front step of a fully covered front porch in a city neighborhood for all to see when it was returned. The boxes at the time were white and labeled WINCHESTER

I had 20 LBS of propellant and a bunch of sleeves of assorted primers left on the door step overnight at the business I work for. It was raining the whole time and it was on a Friday night. I just happened to be driving by that SAT around noon and saw my waterlogged box on the doorstep. Fed-EX claimed I signed for it 7PM FRI evening and asked why I had left it outdoors to get wet when I complained.o_O.

They don't have to know what's in the package. They have to know that their instructions say adult 21 or over must sign.

Did you ask to see your alleged signature?

Last year I ordered SD ammo from Midway ahead of the stupid California ammo law that went into effect 1/1/18, I also found it on my front porch.

I looked this up before I responded. UPS is the single largest employer of the Teamster's Union in the United States. So basically all their drivers are Union.

Go ahead make a complaint let us know how that works out for you.

Reason #6 of many , WHY UPS IS NOT ALLOWED ON MY PROPERTY. I've told them just hold it I will pick it up. Now that's if vendor will not ship via FedEx, DHL, USPS etc instead

Other reasons; leaving pkg in rain.Leave pkg on sidewalk instead of nice dry covered porch. Leave pkg in gravel driveway, ground contact, 2 feet from sidewalk yes you read that correctly. Leave pkg.....
