last night I was working on an AR. Before I started I looked down on my work bench and saw a spring that I do not recognize......no idea where it came from. It's about 3/8" long x ~.010 dia. and very fine wire. The last three guns I have worked on were an AR (I'm about 99.999% sure it is not from that), a Browning 1911 380 and a KelTec PMR 30. Any thoughts where a spring this small might come from? 20180111_163551.jpg

Looks bigger than .010"x3/8" in the photo. There are a multitude of small springs - charging handle latch, buffer retainer, takedown pin detent, front sight detent, ejector, rear sight elevation knob, mag catch, bolt catch, selector detent, etc, etc.......

I vote charging handle latch spring.

But if you can't figure out where it goes, the rules say you have to build another AR to put it in.

I just went out and measured it............ .400 X .050 Too small for any of the detente springs and all of my charging handles have their springs in place.

Spring that goes into grip for detent?
Spring that goes into against stock for that detent?

Just had my ar lower apart to paint yesterday, as suggested that looks to small to be an ar spring... except maybe the disconnecter spring.

Not familiar and with the pm, or browning.

So the little detent spring for the front cross bolt pin looks about that size, maybe longer though.
