slick, what's the chance you're beautiful unfired Diamondback becomes a beautiful fired Diamondback? Sure is sweet.

I traded into one exactly like the OP's back in the mid 1970's. Carried it as an off duty gun one Winter. My only complaint the adjustable rear sight cut into clothing, snagged occasionally or I would catch the inside of my rt arm on it occasionally, scratching it. I finally took a jewelers file and broke that edge a bit, then hit it with some cold blue.

Eventually traded it for a standard old Detective Special which I still have...box and all. Several years back my Wife was given a nickel, four inch Diamondback by her Dad. One of only half a dozen Colt's in the gun safe.

I agree that the temptation is there to desire to shoot this Diamondback but for now at least, my preference is to keep it in my collection unfired.

Great piece I wouldn't ever fire it, I have to zip mine carefully to keep admirers from cocking the unfired
revolvers, learned that with a Python.
I have a 4" Diamondback but not as nice as that.
In a related story.
I rolled my Polaris 4 wheeler over on my legs last year & had the Diamondback in a holster, but the
first thing I thought of was if I could still reach the revolver. I fired of 3 shots then 3 more which saved
me a lot of worry when help came quickly.
The Colt & Polaris were ok & so was I.
I wear a different but dependable gun now so I won't damage the Diamondback.
