Been reloading for a couple years but new to tumbling. I've been sizing/depriming and rinsing my brass before I tumble.

After tumbling about 60 pieces of brass I noticed I had a few 257 Wby cases that I had already sized and primed in there.

I already ran them back through the sizer/deprimer but just wondering if anybody ever did this.

Are they still useable afterwards?

The explosive velocity of lead styphnate, the active ingredient in most primers, is about 16,000 fps. No speck of tumbler media is going to stand in the way of that for long. If you're part of the "five shot, one hole" crowd, then, yes, you would want to pop out the primers, get any media that had gotten into them out and put the primers back in because any little disturbance in the round's ignition could make that one hole, one and a half holes.

If you're not a high precision shooter, load them up and don't worry about them. They will go bang.

Did you wet or dry tumble? Would wet tumbling primed brass compromise the primer?

I dry tumble. And no I'm not the 5 shot one hole type, so if it ever happens again I'll let em ride!

Thanx for the replies guys, good to know going forward.
