I posted a while back on the AR build I did with the Jack lower.

I really like this rifle, but over the last year I have made a few upgrades.
The first was replacing the Magpul MBUS sights with a set of Troy Battle Sights.

The next upgrade was cosmetic, a set of Jolly Roger takedown pins from Tactical Gear Junkie.

Last week I replaced the selector switch with a Joe Bob Outfitters Ambi.

And a Hiper Fire EDT2 fire control group

Last weekend I picked up a Magpul UBR2 buttstock and put it on today. the Egro stock is nice but a little bulky for me.
Now I wait for better weather so, I can go shooting.

How do you like that Diamondhead? And what gas block do you have under it? I ALMOST bought one on one my personal AR builds last year, but I wanted to nest my Omega, and the diameter wasn't going to work - AND the standard low profile adjustable JP gas blocks I like wouldn't fit. I THINK the new detent adjustable JP's would fit under it.

What are the advantages of the Hiperfire trigger group Gunny?

I really like the Diamondhead rail. It’s easy to grip and doesn’t feel flimsy. It dissipates heat very well.
I used a low profile gas block that I got from Surplus Ammo when I ordered the barrel.
With all the new ultra slim handguards on the market, there are a lot more low profile gas blocks these days.

There are... Unfortunately, I'm a little persnickety, and I favor adjustable, clamp on gas blocks. There are more and more adjustable gas blocks on the market, and more and more low profiles, but not really many if any more clamp on styles, so there aren't really many more clamp on, low profile, adjustables... Kinda frustrating when I paint myself into a corner like that with personal preference, but set-screw blocks make my brain itch, and I run AGB's whenever I'm not under competition prohibitions...

I really like the look of the Diamondheads, I'm looking for an excuse to used on for one of my builds, just haven't quite decided WHAT that might be. Maybe put it on my 10.5" 6.8SPC SBR...

What are the advantages of the Hiperfire trigger group Gunny?
It’s a duty rated trigger. Comes with two hammer springs, 4 & 5 lbs. I used the 4lbs on this one. The hammer has a different shape that allows it to hit with more force. The rear of the trigger is open on the bottom so that trash doesn’t build up in it.
They sale for $94 but have been on sale at Joe Bob Outfitters for $59.95. I bought four of them to put in some of my rifles.
Here’s a link to the sale and more info on the trigger.

can you buff it out with a dremil it smooth like this area, i cut down the creep shorted this area video time 4:40

the trigger out more did this with my cheap tapco # 2 and worked out great on both of my ak's, now i dont know much about ar triggers but they got to be simmular to this

ok
I have seen where to many people have messed up doing mods on AR triggers. I prefer to just buy a nice one.
For a hunting or duty type gun, I prefer to stay with 4 or more lbs. Now if I were building a gun just to shoot at the range I would go lighter.
4lbs is light enough for defense i agree but buffing polishing it like a mirror of the points i describe with a dremel with this cant hurt it at all
video time 1:40 with a light polishing cream note: this is the ramp i done this with my barrels ramps also

I've been kicking around about getting the HyperFire firing group. A local guy sells them.

can you make the changes better or tweak them after yah put them on?
I find no need to tweak something that already works just the way I want it. I tried PSAs EPT Fire control group. They go on sale for $30. I also tried the AGL ACT trigger. Got my first one on sale for $59. I liked the ACT trigger, it was much cleaner and smoother then the PSA trigger.
The trouble you hear about lighter AR triggers is that the hammer doesn’t hit hard enough on military primers. This is the advantage you get with the Hiperfire EDT. You get the lighter pull but have a heavy hammer strike.

The thing about modifying the contact points on a fire control group is removing the heat treated surface. You expose softer metal and it wears faster. This will cause trouble down the road. But it’s also something for another topic.
