Man all you guys with these mint unfireds, what's the point! Pretty paperweights but I'd prefer them at the range, not the safe! Of course with the Pony Snakes the value has gotten so high I'd be afraid to shoot one less the collector's value drop by $1000 from a turn line or scratch which probably isn't too far from the truth, these things are priced like small automobiles!

You are right regarding how expensive Pythons are now...and yes that's the reason why collectors don't wish to shoot them....however I bought one of these for $1000 several years back then it took a few years to find the other one and "surprise" it cost me $2000 in the same condition....and at the time I was really perplexed over this...since my budget really took a hit!

Very cool. They are a couple of BEAUTS and I love them! Congrats on finding them, it is always a warm feeling when the right gun(s) comes along! :)

Well I'm glad that you fellows liked my 6" Royal Blue Pythons. Although I now have a fairly good collection of Colts and other revolvers...achieving this took a lot of time and every gun I'd purchased was done on a limited budget...but whenever I first starting collecting revolvers for years all I could afford was Ruger Six Series revolvers that I'd fallen in love with and despite this budget limitation whenever I'd entered a gun shop my eyes would gaze at the more expensive Smith and Colt revolvers that I couldn't yet afford. However I spent a lot of time researching these fine revolvers as my mind was in dream land and then I found the various gun forums where I'd focused on viewing pictures of Smith & Colt revolvers because any beginning collector or gun enthusiast really needs to see these photos to enable them to determine the differences in these guns to increase their knowledge. And this is the reason that I wanted to start sharing pictures of my collection in an effort to enable folks to view the guns of their past that they no longer own or otherwise guns of their dreams that are so hard to find and are so expensive now. But I'm also benefitting from the knowledge gained from this forum and viewing photos of other forum members guns....because we all have knowledge that should be shared with each other to enable us to expand our knowledge of guns as well as sharing our various life experiences with our favorite topics here! One thing I do like here is the easy method this forum has for posting pictures. The problem is that most other forums don't have this ability thus forcing you to have to have a picture host but most of the hosts that I've been aware of are like photobucket.com and they want to charge you an arm and a leg to enable you to post pictures which I certainly disagree with...because over the years I'd posted many photos on there that I cannot access unless I want to pay their ridiculous pricing! As you've already seen I've been practicing posting pictures on this forum to get the technique down pat...yet in time I shall be learning more, and I enjoy being here will all of my fellow members!

slick6, if you want to open your house as a gun museum and display your collection, I'm pretty sure many of us here would gladly pay a modest admission to come and admire your revolvers in person! (If you're married, your wife must be a very understanding woman ...)

Thanks for the compliment....and yes my wife is a very understanding woman.....but since she's built like Wonder Woman it's risky to go against her!

Mint investments love em !
I would rather have the revolvers than the cash to look at any time!

My first centerfire revolver was a new 6" Python, back around 1972, for which I paid $125.00. I used it for plinking, NRA Centerfire, Police Combat, and as my Service revolver in both my reserve officer capacity and as police firearms instructor. I loved almost everything about it, and even bought/fitted a 4" barrel for it.

The only thing I didn't like about the Python was the double-action trigger mechanism, despite having smoothed it up. The single-action pull was very good, however.
