Are you a collector or a shooter?

Like others on here I am an accidental accumulator. I belonged to the gun of the month club for many years scooping up whatever I wanted and shooting the snot out of it thereafter. Then I got back into reloading, and more shooting of the new stuff, then buy a few more, eventually reload for those----rinse and repeat..........;) I ain't no stinkin' collector by a long shot!:p

I tried quail hunting with a tennis racquet, it didn't work very well for me :(

Then I discovered a tennis racquet made by Browing, a superposed I think they called it, wow, much better :)

Yeah for swatting birdies, i like brownings also...

Mostly i shoot, hunt, and tinker...not much for collecting yet.

Both.

My wife and I both enjoy firearms...both shooting and as a hobby involving collecting. We shoot every gun we have so we don't worry about trying to maintain any kind of mint condition or anything.

Shooter and accumulator. The only gun I own I have never shot is a US Krag and I only bought it to have one of every US battle rifle of the 20th century. The stock is a laughable sporterized hack job.

Heck I may buy a box of factory ammo one day and fire off a couple just to say I have.

I’m a shooter, plain and simple. Every gun I have bought has been for a purpose. I enjoy shooting and reloading and one feeds the other, so I have to shoot more so I can reload more. It’s a never ending battle. I have a couple that I try to keep looking good for when I pass them down to my kids(with ammo),but they know they are shooters, and they sometimes shoot them with me. I have passed on a few guns over the years that were collectibles and I just couldn’t own a gun I wouldn’t shoot.

I’m a shooter who considers himself practical but in a moment of weakness I will buy a gun that I just like the looks of.

As for collecting I guess the closest I came is when I was buying SXS shotguns, 16 gauge American made pre-WWII. But I hunted with them so it was practical too.

Shooter with a cpl safes full.Mostly shoot one rig, which means all the others are "collecting".....dust.Have some beautiful old SxS shotguns, and rarely shoot them? When bird hunting or SC's,almost always just grab a beater 20g 870?I'd sell off a bunch of guns and honestly wouldn't miss them, but have 4 grown boys,I usually give them each a gun every cpl years.

The firearms I bought that came in their original boxes and hand tags are my collectors and are just displayed. While everything else is used. I had 2 Winchester Model 94 Centennials, the one in its original box and all tags was a collector while the other that was just the firearm that came in a beat up old box was used. It was a great shooter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine was similar to the one pictured.

Define 'collector'.

I don't own any guns that I don't shoot.
Maybe I won't own any guns that I won't shoot.

I collect guns to shoot and experience them. Im not drawn to a particular style, if its got a teigger i like it. I also am perpetually curious about shooting (and reloading) new calibers and configuations (such as i have a 44mag pistol but whats it like out of a bolt carbine, guess i need a 77/44 to find out).

They are like bolt action butter on ball bearings. Lol. Seriously fun and accurate rifle with mild recoil. Enjoy!
