So I stumbled across a really good deal on a Mega Monolithic upper.

That good deal wound up costing me money, because of course you need to build a precision rig out of such an upper.

Took me 6 months of research to figure out what I wanted.

Wound up going with a JP carrier and adjustable gas block for the recoil characteristic of my 3-gun rifle, where I can watch my bullets hit steel.

Larue Stealth 20" barrel.

Cross Machine and Tool muzzle brake.

Warne 20 MOA X-Skel mount because my other Warne mount is ROCK solid and the price is great.

Viper PST Gen II 3-15x scope with MRAD turrets and the EBR-2C MRAD reticle.

I shot a .636 center to center 5 round group yesterday with factory Federal varmint ammo from a sandbag while leaning on a wire spool. :)

So I think finding a good load with heavy bullets should be easy. :)

What are the prs distances in your area?
Gas Gun is limited by ruleset to a max target distance of 800 yards.

This is what dissuaded me from going with 224 Valkyrie. The Valkyrie is better than 223, and it looks like it can legitimately get you to 1200 or even 1300 yards above mach 1.1. But inside 800 yards the difference is much less, I am giving up reduction in wind drift with the rationale that with the much less expensive to shoot 223, I can shoot more rounds and learn to dope wind better.
