any easy way to lose some of the creep on a new model super blackhawk?the trigger is nice and crisp when it does break, but there seems to be an awful lot of creep.

Part of the design. I did the "poor mans trigger job" on mine. Worked wonderfully. Still some creep but much better to shoot. But be careful to not over do it.

thank you sir, think ill give it a go.
Careful though. I dont generally recommend this. I brought mine down to 2 lbs with this technique. Which is perfect for my uses, may not be for you. Creep is still there but the trigger is so much better. The right way is to send it off to a Smith who knows how to work the Blackhawk's trigger.

A certain amount of creep is necessary for the transfer bar to work but a good gunsmith can minimize it. Not much the end user can do.

I did my own. There is almost zero creep and it's a very light pull. I also installed Wolf springs and bent the legs on the trigger spring. If you are very mechanically inclined and understand how the gun works you can do your own trigger job. Taking your gun apart is very simple. If there's any question in your mind that you can do it properly then just pay someone to do it. Better to pay than to end up with a potentially dangerous firearm.

I have 2 NM Blackhawks, and they're very different.
My .357 made in 1991 has a fantastic trigger with barely noticeable creep.
My .45 Colt made in 2009 has way more creep than I'd like.

I'd like to eventually send the .45 to Clements for an action job.
I need to hold off on purchasing new guns for a little bit and start doing some things like this. I think after the project I'm in the middle of now, I'll do some of that.
