The .223 is widely associated with the AR platform and frankly I don't have any experience reloading for the AR. But if you're reloading for a standard long-barreled .223 bolt rifle (yes, we still use them) with 55gr bullets, propellants like IMR 4064 and H4895 are the order of the day. Once, I asked fellow members what they thought was the best powder for 55's in a .223 bolt rifle and as I recall the most popular answer was IMR 4064.
