I said I would never get a 7.62x39 AR15 so I did anyway.

Good to know! And thanks for the heads up.

I just ordered one of their uppers in 223 Wylde, but that has a stainless barrel.

I had a BCA 16" 223 socom barrel for awhile. It had a really really nice finish, and was accurate.

Well I spent most of the day finishing up the brake lines on my truck so it was almost dark by the time I got done. I was anxious to go shoot so I packed up some guns and went to town to go to the indoor range. I stopped off at the fleet store and bought a box each of all the steel case commie ammo they had to test. They have two lanes at this range with lead sleds but the one they put me on today was all wallowed out and loose so there was some pulled shots while I fought with the lead sled. All groups are 10 shots at 50 yards.

I will definitely be picking up some more of the Wolf military classic. The regular wolf hp's weren't too bad either. The hot shot stuff was on sale for $4.50 a box so I actually went back and bought 600 rounds of it. While I'm using that up I will look for some deals on the wolf MC hp's. I'm anxious to chrono it and try it at 200-300 yards. I shot about 100 rounds tonight from the 10 round C products mags and everything functioned 100%. No fail to fires or failures to feed or eject. I noticed the recoil is substantially more than 300 blackout. I like shooting blackout more, but this is cheaper and I don't have to do any work or pick up brass so this is a win.

Just for irony's sake here are 5 shots from my 4" sp101 357 shooting full house 125 grain 357 magnums at 50 yards. Its almost as accurate as the red army stuff and if it had a scope and a stock I'm certain it would be lol

I went out to my range today to confirm yesterday's results at 100 yards.

I did some looking online and it appears the wolf military classic HP's have been discontinued. Looks like I will need to buy some up.

It looks like you had some well-earned fun.

Yes sir, I shot 70 rounds today which cost $17. I still have not cleaned the gun yet and have had no malfunctions of any kind.

Two things did not survive the day though. I hit my 2" plate at 200 yards and sent it singing off into the weeds never to be seen again, and I found the baffle of my krink brake laying in the snow about 6 feet in front of the bench. I'm guess it came unscrewed.

You’re making me want to build a 7.62X39!! Keep having fun. I need to get my AR build to the range and see how it works,

One of the concerns I have heard about 7.62x39 is that the steel case commie ammo is horribly dirty and with the direct impingement system dumping gas into the action it fouls everything up in short order so I wanted to address that. I shot a couple more boxes of ammo today which I believe brings the round count to 240. I havn't cleaned or oiled anything on the gun since putting it together, not so much as even wiping it down. I was oiled moderately with CLP when I put it together. I just wanted to show how dirty it is. Notice that the lower has probably 1000 rounds through it of mixed 223, 300 blackout, and 7.62x39 and has never been cleaned, and the upper probably has about 500 rounds of 300 blackout and 7.62x39 combined and has also never been cleaned. The bolt and carrier were clean when I put the 7.62 barrel on. I am planning on running it to 1000 rounds without any cleaning or oiling beyond foaming the bore to see what happens. So far I do not think the commie steel ammo has fouled the gun any worse than my 223 handloads do.

I have about 800 rounds through mine without cleaning, still chugging along fine.

My AR9 is dirtier after 120 rounds, but it’s blowback so that’s to be expected.

Watch out for those BCA barrels as people have been having rusty chambers and bores upon receipt of them. I don’t know if it was just a batch issue or an ongoing issue but just something to be aware of.

My barrel arrived today, it's beutiful inside and out! It was wrapped in oil paper, then a heavier brown paper in inside a tube with plastic ends, the tube was in a box that was about 8x8x14 with about 6' of brown paper to keep it from rattling around in the box ... In short, the packing was crazy!

Anyway, here it is with with the upper, with the barrel I bought it to replace! When I get them swapped, probably tomorrow ... And I'll do another pic.

Good report, hopefully BCA just had a bad batch of barrels by the other accounts I’ve seen. Their prices are really cheap on their upper components. Let us know how it performs.

Turns out I couldn't sleep, so I decided to rebarrel it tonight ... Ran into a a couple snags, mainly I was afraid I couldn't get the piston cylinder off the gas block without damaging it (Osprey Defense system), so I decided to use the gas block from the 16" barrel, fortunately I was able to thread the hole under the sling loop and the BCA barrel has a locating locating dimple, so I could temporarily "assemble" it ... but I still need to drill the retaining pin holes.

I'm done for tonight ... So the 10.5" barrel with the suppressor i.e. Only about 1.25" longer than the OAL with the 16" barrel
