The previous thread on this question wandered off topic so rather than resurrect it, I’ll ask again:

Anybody gotten their hands on one of the new Henry Single Shots? I'm looking for experienced impressions. I’ve been having a blast with a relatively new-to-me .357 Handi-Rifle and the Henry’s look to be of higher quality. I don’t “need” a new rifle, but these have my attention ...

I had pre-pro samples of the Henry singles, in shotgun & centerfire, here last year.
They are of distinctly higher quality than the H&Rs, particularly toward the end of H&R production.

I did not fire either, but overall build & materials quality was noticeably better.

I'm also looking for some experienced impressions. Haven't heard anything yet. There are some Henry single shot rifles "out there" somewhere but apparently not many. Looked on Gunbroker tonight and there was a Henry brass frame 44 Magnum single shot listed for sale. Kind of thought there would have been more exposure to the general public by now from gunwriters doing reviews, evaluations, etc. on them in print. I don't really "need" a new rifle at this time but those things really have my attention, too. Would love to see some real world feedback on them and actually get to pick one up and examine it in person. They were supposed to be in production by now; but is it limited production?..... Hope there's not been any production or other(?) problems.

I want one in .358 Win for some reason? I'd take a Long Ranger in that cal too if they would make one.

Why do these seem scarcer than hens' teeth? I haven't seen one locally yet, and I'm thinking a .44 mag might make a great Christmas present to me!

What are the current prices for them? When they were just introducing them, I believe back in the summer, some folks said they were extremely high for a single shot, but I never heard anything about the cost.

I see a few guys on line have bought them in 44mag., and in the last few days, .308Win...

They are shipping some of them out.

BTW, I hear that next year or so, 30-30 will be added...

I sure hope so that will be great!! :) I can see one in the furture...

Depending on how high the comb is I will probably get one in 44 mag and put peep sights on it or a 308 with a 2x7x40 scope. I wish they had an option for a Monte Carlo stock on the 243 and 308 and no iron sights.

I, too, was waiting to get my hands on one or at least talk with someone who has. I wanted the steel 45-70 model for Cowboy Action in the Plainsman category. I wrote Henry an email a couple weeks ago and they said that they had been shipping them in very small quantities. I submitted a notification request to be notified if one reached a dealer within 100 miles of me. I don't like to buy a gun without putting my hands on it but I went to Cabela's Sunday and bought one on backorder. When it arrives I will post about it.

Thanks. Been thinking of placing a Cabela's order myself, but have other irons in the fire at the moment.

Pat Riot; hope you get one in the near future...... Myself and lots of others are still waiting to hear any real world feedback on them even if we can't seem to locate any of 'em anyplace. I'm still wondering why they are so scarce. Thought maybe there'd be a few more than "hardly any" floating around by now. Good luck and keep us posted.

On a few auction sites there are sellers on the East Coast that have them for sale. Not many but a few. I will post when I get mine.

Hasn't anyone bought one yet?
This may be a shocker to you, but this isn't the only gun forum on line and several of the others I frequent, guys there have been shooting them for a while now.

So, yes they are selling and guys ARE buying/shooting them...
