Just got an email from Walther. Apparently a new pistol will be released at shot show. Anyone have any inside information what this will be? Or does anyone care to speculate what it's going to be?

Gotta admit, I'm kinda at a loss for what it might be. They got PPQ 45. The budget pistol is covered with the Creed. The single stack and full size carry is covered between the PPS and PPQ. Maybe a reworked PPQ? Maybe Walther is entering the 10mm realm.....

Thoughts?

I wasn't really impressed with the last big "reveal" Walther teased for months. The Q4 is just a PPQ with a threaded barrel and slide cuts for a red dot. I would like their designs to go back to paddle releases and possibly AS triggers. Although that is highly unlikely. I believe this will be a supressor/optic ready PPQ in 45.

At least in the center of the picture I can make out that it's to be made in Ulm plant, thus it maintains my interest. Maybe something else to go alongside my PPQ M1, PPS M2, and PPQ .22lr. Ulm manufactured Walther's are the only I consider since merging with Umerex.

The folks over at the Walther forum say it's a PPQ subcompact and it isn't arousing any fevered interest. Like me, I've got the 99AS and 99cAS and that takes care of my subcompact needs (along with my Shield for pocket carry). I've got a Q in 4" and wouldn't mind trading it out for a 5" as a range gun....

As I don't shoot .45, 40 or 10, I'm not sure what in a 9mm they could do that would pique my interest or open my wallet, except a PPK....and even then....

Color me unimpressed, a subcompact does nothing for me, if I'm going to have a carry piece that is that thick I might as well jump up to a full size. JMHO. Now a paddle mag release PPS M1 would allow me to sell my PPS M2. I prefer the paddle, especially since I occasionally depress the button mag release on my PPS M2 during firing.

Walther in plastic.

It’s kinda like when your sitting on the beach and a chick walks by in a bikini. She’s about 10 years too old and 20 pounds too heavy for your tastes...yeah your gonna look, but you just don’t really care.

I totally agree, I carry a PPQ M1 in the cooler months and switch to my PPS M1 in the warmer months. The PPS is nice and thin, and is just as much a reliable workhorse as the Q. And I'm all about the paddle release over the thumb button!
