hunting with 300 blackout pistol

make sure your bullets with expand at the speeds you will be shooting. I shoot a rem md 7 aac in .300 bk with a 16" barrel and shoot the nosler 125 gr BT at 2100 fps with win 296-or H-110 and I know they do expand in deer size animals to at least 90 yards.

Assuming you can hit the animal accurately you can go to 150 yards with the blackout. It is pretty efficient in a pistol so it won’t be much slower than a rifle.

Pistol hunting requires practice. Head out for the range and live happy.

Round type and muzzle velocity?

I use 150 gr. Hornady or cast. Works fine for pigs, don't have to be barrel burners. Sst & black tips are supposed to work well.

Barnes TAC-TX 110gr bullets on top of H110 work pretty good out to 100...


and AR-15 pistols, with the right sling, are more akin to shooting a rifle than a pistol, for sure...
