I'm in the market for a custom chest carry holster for my 686 Plus (4 inch) when hiking. Most custom made holster companies list the S&W 686 but not the plus model. Can anyone tell me if the Plus has the same frame and cylinder size as the regular 686? S&W's website says they're both L frames, but doesn't list any cylinder diameter measurement in the specs for these models.
Don't want to spend significant $'s on a custom holster only to find it doesn't fit my gun.
Thanks for the help guys.
Gerry

Lockwork is the same in 6 and 7 shot 686s. I had a 686+, but really preferred the 6 shot. Just personal preference. I sent the gun back to S&W, where a new 6-shot cylinder was supplied and fitted. Both cylinders will work in the gun, so I've thought about having Pinnacle ream the original cylinder for 9mm and Moon clips;)
