who makes stuff for their gun? ... maybe because you like to, maybe nobody makes exactly what you need, or maybe (like me,) you don’t have deep enough pockets to buy all the cool, name brand toys.

Long gun, handgun, the whole gun or a small part. Show us a pic with a brief description of what it is and why you made it.
Truly Innovative modifications may be allowed

Excluded are holsters and gun racks... must be attached to the gun. Also excluded are ‘builds’ consisting entirely of purchased, unaltered parts...

To kick it off I offer my billet milled trigger guard. Just did it as a fun afternoon project B96C3801-C94D-4C00-B192-1B0F2EA371AE.jpeg

Small machine nut welded to the rear plate so I can attach a sling. Made out of cheapskate necessity

And the brass striker spring spacer so I can shoot cheap wolf ammo in my m&p ... I bought an extra power (6.5 lb) spring but was still getting just as many light primer strikes so I made and added this spacer which fixed it

Wish I had pictures...
Just before I had to sell it, my Saiga got a rail adapter milled to accept a HK drum rear sight, and the front sight pulled and replaced with a block milled to accept a rail-mount AR sight.

Guy B. Meredith, I did my work with a hacksaw, drill, files, and wet-n-dry sandpaper. Sometimes you don't need machine equipment if you have time and patience.

bluejeans, yes it is my own idea and design. I bought some high-quality gears for the reduction and did the rest on the fly. PM me if you want to try one yourself (I have a couple extra sets of gears, sideplates, etc.). I was going to make a 3-barrel one, but ran out of patience. It is fed with Ruger BX-25 magazines, of which I have nine for parties!

F2123B20-1028-441F-943C-0203D2A08CD1.jpeg This morning I had some time in the shop... started a skeleton stock. Milled/ turned an end plate out of 7075 into whichis inserted a 1/2 6061 rod which protrudes and locks the end plate into the recess of the receiver. Then set about making a buffer tube out of 1-1/4” round stock; bored a 1” hole x 7” deep, threaded, relieved and trimmed up. Next up: the buttstock.

I didn't make these but some guy in the boonies of the Dominican Rep did foe a SB S&W K frame. The "medallions" seem to be stamped out of beer cans. Joe

Not a gun part, but a cleaning tool for built-up carbon deep in my AR bolt carrier.
I ground down the sides of a hacksaw blade and flattened the end. Then I wrapped electrical tape to just less than the inside diameter of the carrier to protect the walls.
A few turns with solvent and gentle pressure and the carbon at the bottom scrapes right off.
