What are your favorite hammer-fired compact pistols....

The Colt Officers Model ACP has been a solid performer fro quite some time with a definite preference for 185 gr. loads. Typically you will find the Beretta Model 70S in my bag on nearly every trip I make to the range. Part plinker, part target gun and all fun!

Did you ever have to replace the factory recoil spring plug on yours? Or do you still sport the original on your ACP?

Still the original; never had to replace it. Maybe from using mostly 185 gr. ammo through it instead of the usual 230 gr. Hardball.

Mine are mostly sub-compacts but I’m a big fan of the Sig P238 and also the P938. Used to own a 3913 and 3953 and really liked them. Also like the PPK/S a lot but no longer own it either. One of my favorites received no praise here but I think it is a vastly under-rated Pistol in its niche but never really caught on and was recently discontinued and that is the Sig P290rs. I tried to like the Sig P239. Twice. It just didn’t work for me.

I throw in a vote for Makarovs.9mm Mak or .380
Big and heavy for what they are. Lots of Smiles per $ though.
Simple and reliable.

I like my Sig P938 along with my two Firestar pistols and my Llamma in 380. I have two Firestars, a 9mm and a 40. The main difference between the Firestars and the Sig is weight due to the Firestars having a steel frame. As far as size, the Firestars are in between the Sig and my Rock Island compact. My Llamma IIIA is a fun and accurate little gun to shoot.

I don't carry as I'm skinny and can't even conceal my cell phone but looking at the little Remington I may have to rethink this. Some relaxed fit jeans and it ought to to disappear in a front pocket.

For fun guns I love 22 rimfires and currently play with a Ruger SR22, a new issue WaltherPPK/s 22, and the lowly Phoenix. I shoot them all almost identically accuracy wise until I switch to the longer barrel on the Phoenix. A longer sight radius really does make a difference and I feed it CCI SV ammo but it won't reliably cycle the other two. They get either mini-mags or golden bullets.

My centerfire pals are both Ria, a 1911 compact in 9mm and a recently purchased Baby Rock 380. The 9 mill is heavy as a brick which makes for mild recoil especially with lead bullets. I fallen in love with the 380 popgun though. I can't think of anything negative about it now that spare mags are available.

Edited to add: I just checked Bud's guns and the little Remington is available but it's slightly more than $99. $257 to be exact. Whittacher's wants $342.99

I don't carry very often just because I don't feel the need to, but when I do I carry its my LC9s in my front jean pocked in a desantis pocket holster. It disappears in my front pocket and even sitting down it just looks like a square wallet. Not at all gun shaped. Its a nice holster and stays put very nicely.

I have a PPK/S and love it. No jams and accurate and precise.

CZ 75 Compact. It is so good it is hard to describe.

Bersa Thunder 9UC Pro and CZ P07.

The UC9 has the best trigger on ANY semi-auto hammer fired pistol I ever had the pleasure of pulling. Simply amazing.

RA40

The Firestar was a decent, solidly made gun. My brother had an Ultrastar that I borrowed from time to time as a car gun on long trips that I use to make. It had a different feel to it but felt really good in my hand. Another solid performer like the Model B I had.
