We all know of the tragedy in FL. It is absolutely terrible but the left didn’t even wait a few hours to start capitalizing on this. We all know these kids are being used as pawns by the lefties but with all the media coverage the nation is starting to be won over in large numbers. If we don’t have kids promoting the 2A we may very well find ourselves like Australia. All the donations to pro gun clubs in the nation isn’t going to stop this. It’s going to take a concerted effort of pro2A kids counteracting the others arguments to sway the tide. If we don’t act fast you can bet the bans and control will be coming.

I had my classroom shot up 6 years ago. Instead of listing to what I learned by surviving the shooting, I was pushed out of teaching because I didn't buy into the colleges liberal agenda. One of my peers was given a year off with pay to go lobby to eliminate the 2nd Amendment and the Constitution. And a rumor was started that I was carrying illegally on campus.

My offers to use what was learned to prevent other shootings and deaths was received as a hostile act by the president of the college. Worse, my attempts to get the NRA to meet with me went with deaf ears.

So not only are we fighting those who want to disarm us as Clinton and others have said as they call for "Australian style gun control", but we don't get a lot of support for our own when we can use things like my class shooting to rally support.

I'm not sure what we need to do as we were close to getting national conceal carry, and had the gun grabbers on their heels and we gave up all of the momentum and gains and we're not the ones fighting to survive.

I'm proud to say that my 14 year old stood behind her pro 2nd amendment ideals just a few days ago. One of her teachers had a round table discussion and she was the only one who wasn't buying into the "Round up all the guns" talk. She was floored that she was the only one in her class that actually understood how important the 2nd amendment was.

I would also make it very clear that I teach my kids but don't pressure them to lean my way. I have another child who is on the fence. All you can do is teach them what you know and let them formulate their own conclusions.

These Anti kids on the news are propped up, coached, and televised some of the richest people in the world. Any Pro 2a kids will be ignored.

This is true but I suggest we start something. As I have said, this time around there is a ton of momentum. Doing nothing or only throwing money at the nra isn’t going to work. Not to mention, as always, we bicker about what should be done and never mobilize. We are our own worst enemy.

As always, the antigunners (this time high school kids) are saying "something must be done" without giving specifics. Pin them down on what exactly they would do (that would be practical) and their support fades. These kids are young and naive. As they get older and more cynical, and study the issue in depth, they'll realize that "gun violence" is a problem with no easy solution. Simply, the horse is out of the barn on this, and we might as well all be armed.

Both of my grandkids, a boy and a girl, both 6 years old became NRA members a couple weeks ago. They both like shooting and sitting in the gun room with gramps cleaning or maintaining a rifle or pistol. I hope they stay interested because I know that sooner than later the fate of the 2A will rest with their generation. Unfortunately there are a lot of snowflakes getting alot of press these days. I don't believe they are the majority of their generation just like I don't believe the leftists are the majority in ours. They are just louder. WE NEED TO GET LOUDER!

Absolutely true. I've taken my kids shooting and let them know my 2nd Amendment views. Kids can't see - or maybe understand - that the media would very willingly manipulate them. I've explained to my 15 year old daughter that people who want to change a society radically ALWAYS go after the children, because children don't need to be persuaded with the kind of effective arguments that adults are persuaded with. Children are far more influenced by school authority figures, peer pressure and a media that bombards them with the idea that people are or aren't cool depending on what political views they have. They are far more easily manipulated than adults are, this is just a fact.

Kids need to understand that our Constitution was designed to protect liberties DESPITE what the prevailing political mood is. They need to understand that the NRA and most other gun groups would've kept people like Nickolas Cruz and Adam Lanza (and other people who've shown themselves to be psychologically deficient) from owning guns if they could have. Those people didn't get guns and kill innocent people because of what the NRA did, they got guns and killed innocent people because of what people in the schools and government DIDN'T do.

My 9YO is very intelligent for his age (he is doing 5th grade home-schooling). He has the most incredulous look when I just read arguments that the anti's give. He is very into personal responsibility, enjoys shooting, and is a very good shot. He impressed the LGS when he was 7. I asked to look at some gun I was interested in. Before I handed it back, my son asked to see it. I glanced at the dealer, who seemed more curious than anything. I asked my son, "what are the rules?", and he recited them. The dealer went from curious to impressed, and my son double-checked that it was clear, and safely, carefully, and appreciatively examined the gun. He has since spec'd out "his own" AR15. After shooting it for the first time, he passed "his" .22 Crickett to his younger brother. That .22 is still my 7YO's favorite gun to shoot, though he has also claimed my passed-down Marlin 336, though it is too big for him still. I have no question where my boys stand on 2A. My 5YO girl is still too young and hyper to trust with a BB gun yet, though she did walk in on me with the gun cabinet open one day, and saw my wife's Pink Mossy Oak Remington 597. She said, "Gun! Pink! Pretty! Miiiiiiiiiinnnnnnne.....". My wife told her it would be hers when she got older, and she couldn't contain her excitement. So, there is still hope for her, as well. :D

This! They even showed pro gun discussions being squashed at these "rallies"

My daughters are college and high school age. Both are very conservative for their age group. Of course they have some liberal ideas like most young people do, but for the most part they sway conservative. I am very proud to say they both support the right to keep and bear arms as well and the ability to defend ones self. They fully understand that 2a has nothing to do with "hunting".

My youngest came home from school yesterday and said about half of her class remained in the room yesterday because they did not agree with what was being portrayed. She told me she was against the violence, but did not see how that got changed into a gun rights discussion ? She said she did not agree with many of the discussions going on so she stayed in class. This from a 16YO.... She gets it. There is hope, my neighbors son also stayed put in class. It's tough being a young person in school these days.

My daughter is 9 and loves shooting, she's even started to ask for one of her own (shhhh, she's getting a .22 rifle for her 10th birthday). Anyway, Monday night I explained to her that there might be a walkout at her school on Wednesday and wanted her to be educated about what it was about. Once I explained things, she understood that it wasn't anything she wanted to participate in but I made sure to let her know it was her choice.

We did get a notice the next day from her school about a possible walk-out, but it never happened at the elementary school.

I'm not sure she's quite old enough to fully grasp the politics of this whole thing right now, but as long as I can keep her interested in shooting through her teens I think she'll be a good 2nd Amendment supporter one day.

These walkouts remind me of a scene from Orwells 1984 where everyone got together and yelled at an imaginary enemy.

My son is a senior in High School. The walk out, he thought, was to be memorial to the students who perished in Florida. Instead the school turned it into an anti-2A circus. He was offended and many of his classmates were as well.

The main problem is the Libertarian point of view is don’t mess with me and I won’t mess with you. The Liberal point of view is I know what’s better for all of us.

One is passive, the other erosive and we all know that while granite is solid given enough exposure and time even water can make it disappear.

I am very frustrated with how most schools and districts encouraged the walk out. Some did it subtly by recasting it as a protest for school safety, rather than gun control, but it still gave the national control groups their photo op.

That said, in my classroom, we read arguments for gun control and gun rights. We looked for evidence, appeals to emotion, and fallacies. I did not draw conclusions, but taught the analytical skills.

Given the tools, most of my students chose not to participate in the walk out and stayed in class. Many concluded gun control has similarities to the war on drugs, and many were frustrated by the inconsistent age of adulthood. They were also irritated by the inaccuracies and loaded language of gun control. Most prioritized the right to self-defense over a vague promise of protection.

They did recognize faults in the arguments of many gun rights activists but determined they generally had better evidence and logical conclusions -- while gun control proponents often used evidence indirectly related to their claims.

A small sample, but maybe a suggestion that young people would be drawing different conclusions if not manipulated by pro-control adults. Much will be gained if we just continue to talk to the kids logically.

Here's a thought... Quit sending your kids to liberal schools! I understand homeschooling is not for everyone, but there are other options to the rabid left-wing public education machine. I didn't even intend to write this post with elementary and secondary schools in mind...

I'm talking about colleges/universities! Quit going to them! Quit sending your kids there! Quit recommending them! There are conservative schools out there, and NOBODY needs to have a particular college's name on their degree to get a job. Good grief, folks are begging for normal skilled labor! Go get a welding certificate or apprentice to a machinist or something and you don't even need to bother with a university degree! Forget the debt, forget the propaganda; just get a job and you'll be ahead by several years, thousands of dollars, and all the headache that goes with the stress of the liberal classroom and thousands of dollars of student debt hanging over your head!

If we quit supporting the left-wing anti-gun agenda EDUCATORS by giving them our kids, we'll quit giving them our kids as voters!

The issue isn't gun control, and you all know this, the issue is PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY! People are taught that their actions cannot be judged or punished because they are mentally unstable, their opinion is different, they are just immature, etc. It isn't about gun control, it is about right and wrong! There are absolutes.

Turns out some student from Parkand are still second amendment supporters. Weird, I heard that bald girl yelling in mic like 100x but this kid I never heard his name mentioned one time even though he met with the vice president and also chuck schumer as well. Total media blackout on his name.
