I have contacted them everyday since the school shooting. My two senators are liberal DEMS and it does absolutely no good. One is woman veteran but both are clueless Chicago DEMS

Folks, keep the thread on the original topic of the NRA/ILA site and communication means. If you know of other similar pro2A sites facilitating mailings to the state and national offices please contribute them.

Understand that organizations that facilitate emails are just part of what we can do. Take the time to contact your Congress Critters by phone and email and post in short and polite messages telling them that as a voter you oppose restrictions on law abiding gun owners and that you will work to oppose any official that works against your interest.

Complaints about you representation don't advance the purpose of the thread.

I have called Senators Cantwell and Murray, both very liberal Democrats from Washington State. Left a polite and respectful voicemail for Ms. Murray, and spoke kindly with a real person who answered the phone for Ms. Cantwell.

Normally I'd write a letter print it and mail it as companies take physical letters much more serious than emails. I may do so in the future. As I'm extremely busy at work I did take a few minutes and got to Delta Airlines Website and send them a letter saying that as a loyal Delta customer I won't be flying them nor United any more until they reverse the decision and terminate the individual(s) responsible for the decision.

I'm sure that they won't care, but between the Atlanta response and a flood of letters who knows.

We can't roll over like the leftist expect us to do. Instead we need to become the awakened giant that was asleep.

Since they claim we're so powerful they need to see what happens when we're pushed and fight back. Now this doesn't mean, rude, nasty or resorting to their level. In fact, we need to keep the high road. but we must fight like our lives and liberty depend on it as they do.

Vermont Senate proposal S.55 is a laundry list of infringements:
  • Limit/criminalization of magazines that hold over 10 rounds
  • Increase the long gun buying age to 21
  • Require that firearms are locked when not in the immediate possession of the owner
  • a 10 day waiting period to purchase firearms
  • and last but not least - an assault weapons ban
S.55 is expected for a Judicial Committee vote tomorrow.

I used the NRA-ILA "TIME TO ACT" link to e-mail a bunch of my reps a message. Text along with the S.55 verbiage are attached to this post.

So let me understand this:

10 round limit which doesn’t do anything as studies have shown that a shooter can change mags faster than they can be charged.

Take the 2nd Amendment Rights away from people without due process.

Violate people’s right to privacy in their homes

What does a waiting period accomplish. I can see on a first gun as a cool down period if someone was buying a gun in rage, but if you already own a gun this accomplishes nothing but make buying a hassle. And if you’re in rage, if you can’t get a gun you’ll use something else so while a cool down sounds great it’s really not effective.

And the last AWB was so effective, so let’s repeat a law that did nothing good.

I tried to convey those things to the representatives in me e-mail. Unfortunately I suspect the response (if I get any at all) will be something like "all the people I've spoken to want these rules put in place so I'm going to vote for the proposal anyway" - having heard from only those who think like them because the representatives don't think they need to pay attention to anybody else.

I see a relocation in my future. But, if we don't put a stop to this rampant gun-hate legislation soon the whole country will end up laws like CA, CT, MA, MD, NY & NJ...and soon VT.

IMO you said it yourself; Get loud and fight back. The left has been using Saul Alinsky's 13 rules for decades. We need to start using the same tactics and turn the tables back on them. Write letters; attend the same events the prohibitionists do; when they speak out ask them questions that start with "Why..." and "How come...". Educate yourself on the issues and have a clear, calm and concise response.

From my perspective we ARE losing the war. The political left uses terrible events to win concessions such as raising the long-gun purchasing age and 10+ capacity magazines. 'People of the Gun' say to themselves things like "I'm over 21 so the law doesn't affect me"; "I don't own any rifles that use 10+ magazines" and "if I make this concession the Anti's will go away." Well they won't go away - and every concession you make is a step down the road towards a complete revocation of our 2nd Amendment rights and firearms confiscation. "Oh, they can't do that, there are too many firearms out there." I used to think like that and have come to realize nothing will stop the prohibitionists from trying to turn the US into "the Little EU".

If we don't start taking the initiative now; if we don't start acting as an energized and unified community, we've already lost.

"I wish we had an opposing pro 2A movement for our side coast to coast"

Buddy, you ARE that pro 2A movement.

Mailed them all, the useless state rep. & sen. the useless federal rep & both useless federal sen.
and the now useless gov.
Happily there shouldn't be an amendment from the CRC banning more guns & accessories.

Sent mine. One Congressman retiring (Sam Johnson), one very pro-gun Senator (Ted Cruz), and one Senator that could go either way (Cornyn).

at least where I am the critters are on our side for now. I felt the best thing to do is join the NRA for at least 5 years hope they can do some good with the $ 140.00 and also send good reports to the critters on our side.

We need to make PHONE calls. Once a week. Get your congressperson and senators' numbers on your speed dial and start calling.
It's that simple.
Emails are not enough.
:)

I’ve done it many times. I think the number of replies I’ve received (besides the automated “Thank you for writing”) is about two or three. Not that I expect replies, just results.

You really need to b e giving to the NRA Institute for Legislative Affairs in addition to your phone calls. The TV advertising will be getting intense.

Been a member of the NRA all my life, and even do the e-mails from GOA, as well as write my senators, one who is pro gun and the other is definitely anti-gun, all our very polite but to the point. Also donate frequently to the NRA/ILA.
