Bo

Like the grip; are they a Hogue Monogrip? They look like the one I got for my wife's Model 34. Very comfortable to shoot with.

My first firearm was a 642, bought 2 years ago when my wife was pregnant and we had just moved into s ****ty neighborhood (the house was cheap and it’s “up and coming”) some guy got murdered while I was painting my step rails outside at 10am on a Saturday morning a block away. Pretty much decided right then and there.

Now I have a 442, and a M60, 2 686s and some sigs!

I daily carry the 642/442 in Aiwb in a high noon holster, leather.

Trying to read through all 3 parts of the 642 club. EXHAUSTING but fun. Have a 638 with a LaserMax on layaway. Plan on shooting all kinds of ammo in it to see what "her" and I like best. After all this will be a long term relationship. LOL

It has been yonks since I chimed in, but I just got a Ladysmith today for an online price to replace the 642 I so foolishly sold two years ago. Perfect mate to my G19!

Carried a Smith and Wesson Model 642 as an on duty backup weapon as a police officer and detective for 19 years. Here is one of my heavily carried Smith and Wesson 642s.

Is my 640 no dash welcome here?
Of course!!

14 years I’ve been carrying my 642-2. It gets supplemented, and occasionally supplanted, but there really is nothing quite as enduring, versatile, and reliable. I’ve got four sets of grips for this one gun, and will probably finally do a lock delete on it sometime this year.

It was in my pocket yesterday, and riding my ankle today.

Joined the club with a 638 I picked up at a pawnshop. Pretty much in outstanding condition. After shooting it (about 60 rounds) with Rem UMC 125 HP+P and one box of Buffalo Bore 158gr soft cast HP standard pressure both shoot 10+ inches left at 12 yds. The other observation is the grips feel great holding and aiming but are not conducive to control through the shot and recoil. Going to need to find a remedy for the shooting left to that degree and I will be in the hunt for better grips. Recoil is not bad at all and it is the perfect SD carry weapon for me. It reminds me of my Taurus Tracker 41 mag titanium I carried in bear country. So light I never left it home or in the truck because it was too heavy or bothersome.
