A friend just bought a G40 and I as over visiting and fondling his new pistol. I was skeptical about such a long slide, but handling it was Wow!! I like it. Actually has good balance and the longer slide is noticeably easier for my older eyes to focus on the front sight. I thought I was done buying handguns but the G40 is at the top of my next to get list. It would be a great gun for home defense, woods, camping. Might have to walk around stiff legged as it hangs down from the holster a ways (kidding).

I just ordered a Kriss Vector carbine in 10mm, and since it takes Glock 20/40 mags, I am debating between which pistol I'd like to pick up. I need to handle a 40. I handled a 20 and liked the gun as much as any Glock, but a 40 I've not seen in the wild.

Plus I already have 5 magazines!

I've never wanted a Glock before, but magazine compatibility makes it a natural choice.

Watch out for the screw lengths on the mounting of the scope on the G40. Make sure they aren't too long.

My Kriss Vector likes 155g bullets loaded fairly stout. I've had some bullet setback issues with 180g. My reloads could be my fault. I DID increase the crimp.

I like the G40 and G20 equally, but well the G40 gets a slight nod for the scope. I put a ZEV trigger in the G20 but it took some adjusting to get it right. Nice improvement. Dealer told me no ZEV trigger available for the G40. I haven't had time to research the issue, frankly.

Hope this helps.
