Back in December I received a bill from Gun Broker for over $100 for a period that I had no transactions. I attempted to contact GB but to no avail, so I challenged the charge to my credit card and my CC was credited back and the dispute was resolved in my favor.
Fast forward to mid February and BEHOLD! The exact same amount appears on my credit card as charged from Gun Broker! I again challenge the charge because I have had ZERO sales transactions and a single purchase transaction since the last time go around with unauthorized charges from GB.

Now, irony of ironies, I go to GB perusing the website and discover I cannot "watch" an item because: "Your account is suspended due to a credit card chargeback."

Soooo, am I correct in assuming GB believes they can charge a credit card at will?
This is the first time I have ever had an issue with GB and I am left extremely displeased with their lack of customer service/communications. :(

I've never used GB but would sure as the world block their ability to use my credit card.

I would damn sure make certain my credit card info had been removed from GB. That is fraud and probably a hacker running random charges.

I used to love GB. But since they changed to the new format and eliminated the patch to the old one i'm DONE. Can't stand the block format on my desktop. Takes forever to scan side to side then down. Gives me a headache after a couple pages. When you do a search all kinds of other crap is sprinkled in whats shown. Nothing to do with the search. Even put in a make of gun and other makes are sprinkled in. You click on a item, then back button out to resume search the item you looked at is now in a different area so your not sure if you missed looking at whats in between. Either the new programmers who built the new format are "***** or they have purposely done it to drive people away from the site. Rant over.:cuss:

I have had two issues with gunbroker and after the second, I quit using them.

First issue - I never got an item. My account was A+, 50+ transactions. The seller misdirected the shipping to a random address and wanted me to pay for the item and the extra shipping to finally get it to me. Canceling wasn’t allowed according to seller. Gunbroker agreed with seller. My bank disagreed. Charge reversed. Account terminated by gunbroker.

Second issue, new account. Mystery charges. No communication. Chargeback. Bank agreed with me. Gunbroker suspended my account and when I contacted them again, they said I owed them and terminated my account when I mentioned the legality of the charges.

AND .. new higher charges go in effect soon. 6% on the first $500. Ouch - more than double in cost to sell!

Added Comments -

I have actually never had any trouble at all (at least to date) with GunBroker's billing. My account has always been accurate and professionally handled. I have made hundreds of transactions, both buying and selling, and it has been overall a very positive experience from both sides of a transaction. Actual disappointments have come at a rate of less than 2%, I would figure.

The 'new' format does not work well for me at all, and I now use it for purchases only 10% as much as I did just a year or two ago. I have successfully sold a number of handguns in the past three months as I am trying to lower my inventory, often pricing items I have had for over two years at less than my cost just to move them out.

The new fee structure will basically finish it of for me as a Seller. GunBroker now charges me $11.25 in fees to sell a $400 item with $30 S/H. It will soon cost me $25.80 to make that same sale. When I am making 10% at best on a sale, giving up 6% in fees is simply not attractive to me.

Seems like a lot of sites fix stuff that wasn't broken and then wonder where things went wrong. I still spend way too much on GB, but I can see it dropping considerably between the new format and higher charges. I haven't sold a lot of guns lately, but it seems like every few years I do and the cost keeps going up.

Well, they did it again.
My disputes of their last two times charging me $177.53 were decided in my favor. This is the third time and I have requested the credit card company to block GB from charging this account.

I don't like to deal with sloppy businesses and I refuse to do business with a company that willfully and knowingly apply false charges.

Sorry, Gun Broker, but three strikes and you are out. No more GB for me. There are too many options out there for buyers and sellers. Kiss my money good bye!

(Do I sound unhappy? It's probably because I am. :cuss::cuss::cuss:)

I always have trouble with GB. High prices. High credit card fees. High shipping fees. It just doesn’t ever work out right.

I had several issues with GB shipping system. Sold a body armor, and could not send it via USPS, receiving an error on any options I input. Price via FedEx was twice bigger. Ended up using Post Office site directly. Other than that had no issue with GB itself. Buyers are a different story.

None of which is the fault of GunBroker.
Each of your complaints is the decision of the individual seller, not GB.
You are correct. But the effect is the same. When you try to use GB, you run into those problems. When you use other sources like gun.deals, you get several choices that are free of those issues. Hence I associate GB with the problems and prefer to use the other sources. Naturally I am only talking about new merchandise. Gun Broker might still be a good source for used which most of the online stores don't deal with.

Gb's recent changes have dulled my enthusiasm to use them. Unless you can spend the rest of your life viewing items, you have to use their "list" option. Then, if you choose to check an item further, their system returns you to the PAGE you were on, but not the ITEM. This causes you to go hunting.
I don't use GB's checkout. The former system of direct contact with the seller for the sale worked for me over the years. Why does GB want to monitor/interfere?
I also dislike the repeated ads for the same eastern bloc surplus junk.

Haven’t had any problems with Gunbroker,,, have been using them for years. Just bought a gun there last month and the whole transaction went through without a flaw...

Very satisfied with Gunbroker.

I mostly use GB to purchase things. The last two "upgrades" are an oxymoron IMHO. The site is now not user friendly IMHO. They are loosing revinue due to changes and are trying to compensate with forced advertising between the lines so to speak. I have not used the site for at least the last couple of years but recently visited and looked for something. Five minutes and I got out of there due to lack of patients. No more aggravation for me. YMMV

I like Gunbroker myself. I sell a few things and buy some stuff. You have to be patient both ways, buying and selling. A couple good deals I have gotten. CZ P-09. Like New $325 shipped.

Just got a Mini -14 Stainless 181 series for $450 delivered. Also in like new condition
