P5 would be my vote as well.

I bought the PPQ wren it came out , but sold it a month later for a 19. The PPK's I carried as a backup for over 20 years, and would still have it if a cop hadn't confiscated it, and I had to get it back due to a rookie screw up, that NYC is famous for. When I got it back, it was scribed across the entire slide and frame. And it was a custom German gun, work done by a guy on LI who only worked on walthers. The gun was ruined, by a vindictive cop who didn't like civilians with permits, Typical Ny crap

A '36 Olympia. I also like PPS M2, but you said "one".

I had a P5c and two P88s both full sized. The P88s are for big hands.
Too many stupid high offers to buy and they went to the highest bidders at the local range.
I started carrying the P5c but figured it was too valuable to lose in evidence if I ever had to use it for defense.
Now a G26 which offers a couple more shots than the P5c is my carry piece.

^^^^^This hands down. I have a P5, but always wanted a P88. Also have a WWII PP that my Dad brought back from Germany. Not a polymer fan although I am sure the PPQ, and the others are find pistols.

Love to have a PP .32. However, I have a PPQ in 9mm and it's without a doubt the finest poly pistol I've ever owned. Nothing I don't like about it.

My first thought is I would go with a P88c, it's my favorite Walther.

I would have to choose a .32 PPK because I think it is the best gun of it's type.

I would be happy with a number of other semi compact double stack 9mm handguns like the CZ-PCR, Detective Hi-Power, SIG/Sauer P228, or S&W 6904, but nothing compares to the PPK.

I'm not a fan of the gimmicky triggers so I would take a Creed for an EDC / field type gun. I would take the Q5 match if you were just handing out Walthers and you could throw in an RMR if you were really to be nice

Q5's design is dumb in that the rear iron sight is on the plate, so the optic precludes the use of stock rear sight (unlike Glock). Therefore, RMR is not suitable. Q5 needs DeltaPoint Pro or Shield RMS with built-in rear sight.

IMHO, any multi-component trigger. Check elsewhere on this forum for trigger pins that have broken or worked out (several recent posts), trigger springs lost into the ozone, etc. I would rather have a robust trigger with the mechanism fully enclosed.

My PPS M2 LE. Runs every time. Carry on my ankle in summer or IWB with 6 rd. mag. Winter OWB 8 rd. mag.

The Italians did a great job of bringing the P.38 into the 21st century.
Do a detail strip of the M9. It is a P.38 with a Hi-Power magazine.

You do realize the Beretta 92 was designed and first manufactured in the mid 1970s right?

They did it by extending its lifetime through the 20th century until it ended, and the 21st century began.

P38. It is the only walther I own

I have four Walther handguns, a P1, PPK/S, P99 and a P5.
If I had to give them up keeping just one, it would be the P5
I like the P5 for its looks and it is the more modernized refined version of the P38. I always liked the P38’s.

I had a Walther PPK/S back in the 1970's (mainly because of the James Bond mystique). It had a very heavy trigger pull, and shooting it was generally uncomfortable. I traded it away and had no regrets.

In recent years, I bought two surplus Bundeswehr P-1's (updated P-38's with aluminum frames) in excellent+ arsenal-refurbished condition. These are good guns.

I only own 1 Walther.
A PPX in 40 S&W.

It seems very utilitarian.
Kinda homely lookin'.
But gives me 14 rounds per mag.

Although I own a P99 AS my vote goes to the PPS M2. Walther , IMO, got everything right with that pistol. Best single stack 9mm I've found yet.

Walther question. I have a Walther P4. My only Walther, and only 9mm. Post #68.
I like it.
I did notice it has a lot of little springs, unlike my Series 70 colt. Is this a common Walther trait? Do I need to have spares on hand, or do they hold up well.

I'm going to be the outlier. GSP.
