Well, I sent my Glock 19 slide back to Glock to have some of their steel sights put on to replace the plastic OE sights. I have to give them props as they installed the sights and sent the slide back in a week and a half, but also went through the everything "in" the slide and replaced most of the internal components for no cost, and itemized what was replaced on the invoice. The pistol has around 2,000 rounds through it. I know these small parts can't cost them much (I work for a manufacturer and understand how much springs and things cost), but I really appreciate that they went through it to make sure it was functioning properly/like new. All for $20! Kudos to Glock! I love when companies take care of their customers (Ruger, Dillon, Glock, etc.).

I stripped my slide before sending it in for new night sights.
Everything was replaced gratis.
Would have been fine save for the post office losing my slide for 5 weeks!

I shot so many rounds through a Glock 17 I broke off a slide rail on the frame (and yes, the pistol still fired). I sent the gun back, and they returned it in a brand new frame with brand new internals (so a 100% new bottom half) and replaced my fading trijicon sights.

Yup, they really are simple to work on with minimal parts count. Certainly not the prettiest pistols out there, but they weren't designed to be and more importantly, they always go bang when the trigger is pulled. I've owned a few Glocks and am certain I'll always have at least one in my collection. It's nice when you're able to add another company to those that take care of their customers (the tech's on the phone were also very helpful when I called to ask about this service - nice folks down there in GA).

If Glock made a truly pocketable pistol like LCP with Glock's quality and simplicity, I'd be all over it. Unfortunately, G42 is still too large.
