For the last 10 years or so I've been searching for a clean, early model Daisy 1894 to replace the one my Dad gave me on my 8th birthday, 54 years ago.

I mentioned it casually to my boss where I work and he goes in the back and comes out with one, and says "This has been sitting in the backroom closet for at least 20 years... It's yours, enjoy".

I inspected it, tested it, and it was apparent that it that the seals were bad. I dropped it off at Baker Airguns last week and Dennis said it'll be ready in a few days. I got it back today and I'm really happy. It functions well, looks good, and brings back fond memories of wandering the canals and briar patches in my boyhood days in Southern Louisiana.

Those rifles are so dang much fun,,,
Not particularly powerful or accurate,,,
But tons-o-fun to get your cowboy fix with.

I have two of the rifles,,,
And two of the revolvers.

Here's the revolvers,,,
Being guarded by my kitten, Chu-Toi.

These are my backyard guns,,,
A friend and a couple of six-packs,,,
They make for some truly fun plinking.

Good to see you've come full circle in your quest! I can still remember seeing that Daisy Model 1894 and the Daisy Model 179 "Spittin Image" BB pistol in my Dad's Herters catalog. Would have sure loved to have them when I was a kid but my Mom was always against it. Took quite a few years but eventually I ended up with the real thing!

Enjoy your new Daisy and your memories!

That is a nice one; it sure does look good. My nearly 60 year old Sheridan Blue Streak has bad seals and won't pump up. I need to get that one fixed.

Gunny, I don't have anything for the 8mm Mauser ammo but got an old Mosin around here somewhere so llet me know if you need any help shooting up the 7.62 x 54R! :D

Congrats,

With one of those Daiseys, I made the summers miserable for the frogs and minnows that lived in the creek that ran through our cow pasture.
I dont recall what model it was, but it looked like a '94 and had a saddle ring.
