I would strongly suggest a new thread when the presses come in. :)
As requested by Walkalong, I am starting a new support thread for Lee Precision's new press, the Pro 4000 also called Auto Breech Lock Pro.

Previous thread was full of speculations and comments/Lee bashing not directly related to Pro 4000/Auto Breech Lock Pro and would not help prospective buyers or actual owners of the press.

In the spirit of Pro 1000 support thread which focused on Problems/Solutions format to actually help users resolve issues to resolution, I hope we can continue the THR practice of no Lee bashing on this thread - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/lee-pro-1000-solutions-no-bashing.507454/

Let's keep this thread focused on ACTUAL owner/user problems and solutions. If you want to post non-actual problem/solution comments/questions, please post them on the other thread or start a new thread - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/new-auto-breech-lock-pro.832974/page-16#post-10810432

I thank all the members in advance.

You can post your actual problems in question form but please make reply posts in "Problem / Solution" format with proven "working" solutions.

And please, no speculations, only working solutions.

Once again, this is a NEW specific "problem / solution" support thread for actual owners/users of Pro 4000 in the spirit of Pro 1000 support thread where only actual problems and solutions were posted to resolution - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/lee-pro-1000-solutions-no-bashing.507454/

Like the Pro 1000 support thread, this thread is for new users of Pro 4000 press after they actually received them and working to resolve any problem they may encounter. As already posted in the OP, please keep posts specific to ACTUAL owner/user problems and solutions ONLY.

Thank you.

Bds can you start another thread for anyone that’ got one. I’d love to hear about the new press. Since it’s so new, it would be nice to hear about initial reactions, what they’re like out of the box, and what things they’ve had to do to get up and running. To me, that seems like it would be a good feed to this thread which seems like something that will be a longer term resource.

I agree and here is the new unboxing, review and discussion thread - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...r-review-discussion-thread-no-bashing.835426/

We can keep this thread strictly as technical support thread for issues that come up with proven solutions.

Hello all, my new lock breach pro won't index. It seams that the twist on my indexing arm is too low. Also the indexing rod dose not go into the bottom slot. I'm sure it is operator related, but any feed back will be greatly appreciated.

it looks like something is supposed to be in the open space at the bottom of the press. Can someone look on their press to see if I'm missing something. Thank you in advance.

The indexing piece crosses with the slot on the base of press. Yours' seems to be off kilter a bit. It doesn't go into the slot. Try removing the indexer and raise the ram midway. Reinsert, then capture it with the taller breech lock. Slowly lower the ram to see if it indexes. There will be slight resistance before it indexes.
I suppose the second picture is the underside in the raised position. I don't see anything missing there.

Your missing the plastic piece that rides on the index rod. It is a round dished black plastic piece about the diameter of a quarter with a cross in the middle for the index rod to go through. If you pull the index rod out and turn the press sideways it will fall out. I'm guessing you probable lost it somewhere while you were setting it up.

If you don't find it call Lee, they will probably send you one for free.

I have tried as you suggested, it still isn't indexing. I also have tried at different heights, their is also no Resistance.

I just read on lee' s website that the turret press safety prime does not work correctly . If you send the one you have back and $ 15 + 6 shipping they will send you a new one .

I finally got ahold of Lee . The technician said there is a third version . The black and the white ones don't work so well . The new one is gray .

What agravates me is by the time you send the safety prime back to Lee you could order one cheaper at Titan or Midsouth . Lee didn't even tell the distrubutors that there was a new version . At least the ones I talked with . Thought I had my old version working good then it started dropping primers again .

For those who have a press that the old style works on, it would be better to just order a new primer and keep the old. That's my plan anyhow.

I just ordered the new one from Titan . I just want people to know there is the third version . I have two sets of the older styles . Works great on my turret . I think Lee's new video should state there is a third version that supposedly works better on the new press .

Do you have the new gray one or did you get the new part number?

Thread cleaned up. Let's keep it on topic now please.

If you are working out a solution or "guessing" on a possible solution, please post in the "Unboxing, review and discussion thread" until a proven solution has been reached - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...r-review-discussion-thread-no-bashing.835426/

Thank you.

Proven solutions for a press that just hit the market 'weeks ago' could be few and far between. That all depends on the qualifier for proven,
Can you please qualify proven, as right now, even the Manufacturer is continuing to 'work out solutions',,,
TIA

Skgreen, welcome to THR.

The Pro 1000 support thread is full of proven "working" solutions from years of "tinkering and problem solving" by owners of Pro 1000 - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/lee-pro-1000-solutions-no-bashing.507454/

I am trying to do the same for Auto Breech Lock Pro (Pro 4000) on this thread.

We can work on the solutions together in the "Unboxing, User Review and Discussion" thread and once the solutions have been proven to work, we can post them on this thread so users of the new press can readily find solutions to their problems instead of reading through pages of speculative "possible" solutions.

Hence why I asked the replies to be posted in "Problem ... Solution" format.

In the same manner as Pro 1000 support thread which started in 2010, Pro 4000 support thread could also take time perhaps years to fully develop and provide users with exact step-by-step checklist and proven solutions - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...lutions-no-bashing.507454/page-6#post-9614898

My hope for this thread is for Auto Breech Lock Pro (Pro 4000) owners with problems to readily find proven solutions instead of being frustrated. I have been using my ABLP/Pro 4000 for past 10 days and already identified problems and solutions and will be posting soon once I verified they are true "working" solutions.

Excellent pre-planning!

Hope something that meets the qualifiers will be posted soon!!!

Thanks!
