When I've been in need of gun parts in the past, I would always get in touch with Numrich Gun Parts.
Nowadays they are often out of stock, contrary to " the good old days ".

Recently I was considering a fixer-upper that lacked a magazine.
Numrich didn't have it. Triple K seemed to be the only available source, but I've heard of some that didn't work well.

I don't want to buy the gun if the mag doesn't do its job.

If any of y'all have had experiences with Triple K mags, good or bad (even ugly), I'd appreciate your comments. Thanks guys.

Both good and bad experiences. The good is the fact that TripleK makes so many mags for pistols that are long out of production and forgotten by the rest of the aftermarket. Often they are the only choice unless of course you can find an original mag on GunBroker for, say, $100-$300 in many instances. The bad is that the many Triple K mags that I own almost never come close to the quality or production tolerances of an OEM and frequently take an hour or more of polishing, grinding and bending to get them to work reasonably well. So it is a mixed bag.

got one, that was wrong, because it was a difficult model to match, and they accepted a return with no difficulty. The second one was also wrong, but for a 110 year old import with no markings, and your matching it to a picture, thats how it is. I had to modify the mag, but it has worked for years, quality is good, and it has not taken any spring set or feedlip opening after sitting loaded for 8 years. I would say the quality was good.

Generally considered unreliable, unless a company contracts for specific specs.

I've had a half dozen different ones over the years, and I can't recall any big issues. Pro-Mag is a different story. I think the 8-10 of those I've gotten have been useless junk.

I had a hi-cap for a Ruger P89. It tended to over-insert and get stuck in the gun.

If it's for a common gun, I'd buy something else. If it's your only option, maybe it will work (although it might take work).

I have a Triple K magazine for a WW2 souvenir Unique 25acp. They were the only ones that offered a replacement. It seems to work o.k.

I bought one for my Colt 1903. Spent about 45 min. grinding, filing and re-bending to get it to work, but it's worked okay ever since. (About 10 years).

I got a deal on a Highstandard Sport King, for $180 because it was missing the magazine, but the gun was in great shape. I found an original, new old stock, mag, but the sticker price was $75. I picked up a Triple K mag for $25. At first it didn’t feed that good, but after five minutes and a filler, it works flawlessly.
