There was a near new Remington 1100 hiding on a rack inside a gun store in Prescott today, until I found it and saved it for $400 OTD.

The letters on the barrel put it's manufacture date in April 1981.

It's got a 30" barrel and a full choke, so it'll be good for trap, and maybe dove if I mind my distance. Also, vent rib barrrel and two aiming beads, some machine scroll work and stock checkering.

I had to sell a beloved Browning Gold 12 ga years back to fund an unprovoked divorce, so I'm excited to finally have a gas shotgun again.

Anybody have any Remaining 1100 tips or tricks?

it should have TB or TC near the serial number on the left side of the receive for a trap model. it does look like it does have good wood on it. well worth 400.00 dollar.

Just go to the hardware store and buy your self a pack of viton orings for next to nothing. Change it occasionally and you are good to go. If I remember correctly the oring size is "21" for a 12 gauge. Good luck with your new treasure. Nothing wrong with a Remington Classic Trap 1100. Many clays have been exploded by those guns. Ran my first and many perfect rounds since with that same model.

I love my mid-70's 1100 and use it weekly at the skeet and trap fields. $350 used and it loyally shoots several thousand rounds a year. I bought a 5 pack of Viton rings for a few bucks and have changed the ring once in 8 years. Replacing the o-rings is probably not as important as cleaning the mag tube and associated parts particularly if you shoot light loads at low pressures which produce soot. Otherwise, it will go on shooting forever.
