Im not trying to pair bluetooth. It does recognize and display my labradar's name and then gets an error msg saying communication error

Can you guys with issues tell us what platform you're using--Android or iOS? I'm curious if both platforms are experiencing the same issues.

I had my first run at using the new LabRadar App between my phone. It works well. Swiping left to right pulls up the other options for the app. It took me a little to figure this out. The newer firmware seems to function much better than the earlier versions. I'm a very happy camper.

Dang, should I update to this version? Mine seems to be working well. I'll read the update... This is what the Update states:

June 18, 2018

Labradar firmware
Firmware A: v1.2.1
Firmware B: v1.0.0

Bug Fixes and improvements:

- Minor Bug fixes
- Improvement for external adapter

I'll probably update my firmware this weekend. Can't see that it will do any harm. Looking forward to hearing if it solves the Android-users' problems.

Finally got to the range to try it out and worked well with iPhone. Missed one or two shots in a series until I figured out where muzzle has to be and having to wait several seconds between shots. One thing I have to do is put a guard of some sort between the LabRadar and the blast from cylinder gap on my revolvers.
If any have done so please enlightened what you did.

Reeferman, check this out if you haven't already seen it. I found out I wasn't placing my pistols in the correct position. Keep the muzzle behind the unit so the blast isn't near it.

Just got mine on Wed. Downloaded the app (android) and new firmware, even figured out how to change ms to fish thanks to you guys. It paired right away with my tablet. I'll take a few shots off the back deck tomorrow evening to check it out. So far so good.......

Last year or so I’ve had to shoot off of a rest due to shoulder injuries. The rest I’m using doesn’t work so good so I’m coming up with another. I had the offset at 12” and after switching to 6” it was picking up every shot as long as I waited long enough.
However with 357 and 44 magnum I’m going to have to make a shield as the cylinder gap blast is hitting the LabRadar unit.
I have to shoot on the side of the LabRadar because of the size of the bench at the indoor range I go to.

But one thing is there were others shooting on my left mostly with 9mm handguns and the LabRadar never once picked up them. Now I suppose if some mall cop was to let loose with a short barrel rifle and brake next to me then it might pick it up.
So far I’m happy with with it.

Forgot to add that the 4 and 6 inch revolvers were ok but the 8 3/8” caused a bit more issues as I had to move back that much more.

I have found that I have a tendency to shoot too quickly (between shots), and when I do that, it will miss picking up a shot here and there. I have had to learn to slow down and shoot more methodically when using the Labradar. I have been shooting a lot of speed shooting sports over the last couple of years (Steel Challenge, USPSA) and I want to just blast away!!!

I can normally get away with a shot a second, but if you think about it, the unit is recording a huge sum of data each shot.

Anyone using something other than the v notch to aim it? Is see things from a triangle to a scope on you tube.

I have good results with just using the "V" on top. However, I saw a fellow at the range that hot glued a cut off straw to the "V" and was using it to aim.

Same here. I have never had any issues using the V-notch. There are lots of home remedy mods on YouTube, but I have never felt the need to use any of these.

I personally don't think they need to be aimed that accurately unless you are trying to chronograph a rifle at 100 yds. Even then, the V-notch works fine for me. YMMV...

I made it to the range today with the latest firmware update. It won't work with my 8 year old Samsung Table. I suspect it has to do with BlueTooth ver. It works with my Android phone okay.

I love when the chronograph gives me results I wasn't excepting on an experimental load. I now have another rabbit hole to explore in the world of reloading 44 Rem Mag.

Didn't realize that was an option.
From the quick start instructions it clearly shows placing the firearm to ether side. In my case, Ruger Super Blackhawk in 44 mag, I'm off the right side by one foot with the muzzle behind by an inch or so from the back of the unit.

I think what I will try is put some Velcro on the LabRadar and on a piece of light aluminum or plastic maybe the height of the labradar and 6 inches wide and stick it on to prevent any cylinder blast from hitting it. It does show in the manual to do this with rifle brakes.
Will be a few days but will come up with something.
