What’s the status of aluminum case handgun ammo?

I honestly wouldn't know, I've never tried any.

I reload it for using it in places I can’t find my brass. I get 4-5 reloading in 45 acp.

I very recently picked up a case of Fiocchi 9mm 115 gr FMJ for $169, free shipping.

I've found similar deals in the past with Yavex, Magtech and Aguila. They all shoot well (the Yavex is actually quite good). The Magtech and particularly Aguila is a little on the dirty side, but any time I shoot, I clean the gun afterwards.

I would consider shooting non-brass cases before I would shoot some of the odd polymer-jacketed ammo (the stuff that looks a little like it's melted lipstick). Aluminum doesn't bother me, and if it's 9x18 Makarov I'll shoot all the steel I can find.
