Finally getting a chance to set this up after moving. Mounted on an Inline riser, shell plate on, primer plate and seating punch good.
HOWEVER, before I attached primer tube assys, I held my eye over the top looking down. It isn't even close to being able to pick up a primer. The bent bar that actuates the slide, etc, doesn't move the primer slide far enough - as in the opening doesn't line up at all. The top black screw is set at max. I can manually manipulate the best metal bar back enough to get the clearance. What am I missing? (Besides the fact that the directions are less than clear)

TIA!

Going from memory here, so..... That bent bar, I think has a top anb bottom to it I think. Have you got it in right side up?
Also there's a trick to adjusting the primer feed. Look up some you-tube videos from Highboy76. He explains the complete set-up very well. Once I used his instructions to set up mine everything works perfectly. It's been a couple of years now so I don't remember all the how-to's.

Edit. Oh and if Drainsmith sees this he is the best expert here,IMO, on LNL presses. He can tell you whatever you need.

The primer pickup is basically four parts. The first is the AP Breakaway cam wire. (The bent wire) And as stated it goes in one way. If you look at both ends one is flat and the other end is rounded. The rounded end goes down into the Breakaway cam plunger and the flat end goes into the Lock-N-Load AP Bracket. (the black plastic thing on top to adjust the Cam Wire) The last part is the primer slide.

Now the way you adjust it is first with the primer tube and primer tube housing removed and the Primer tube body housing installed. First, loosen the screw holding the AP Bracket, then pull the handle all the way down. Now while looking down the Primer tube body housing pull the AP Bracket back until you see the primer slide hole just a hummingbirds fart past dead center. Then tighten the screw on the AP Bracket now look back down to make sure nothing moved. Let me know if you have any more problems if this doesn't work.

IIRC, I raised the ram full up.
Should be a slot in the top cam wire bracket. Loosen screw to move bracket in-out.
'Baseline' adjustment was with the back end of the primer slide flush with the outer edge of the plate. Look down inside again to see if everything's fully aligned.

IIRC, Hi-boy recommended that the primer slide be set just a tiny bit shy of 'fully aligned' with the primer feed tube. I must have a 'low-boy' press as I never had much luck with that setting and went back to 100% dead-center aligned.

Once aligned, I then cycle the press and watch the cam wire for any horizontal movement/wiggle midstroke. Adjust top bracket left or right slightly to keep 'wiggle' to a minimum.

A bit OT: Early on, I had a ~malfunction~ and broke my top 'black plastic' cam wire holder. Aftermarket brackets have a relief notch in them to allow the cam wire to 'pop out', and the premise is that you can simply pop it back in if it ever pops out.
Bought one, worked fine, Hornady sent me (2) replacement brackets and, unlike the one that came with my press, these also have a relief notch cut in them.

Anywho, removed the aftermarket one, installed one of the new Hornady's, adjusted per above and haven't touched it since.

Gotta keep any/all spilt powder or debris out of the primer slide groove. It won't affect the slide picking up the primers from the feed tube, but it will certainly make priming a PITA. Can of compressed air sits by the press 24/7 for those occasions. A quick blast or 2 when needed and back to running 100%.

Take a file and put a bevel on the front bottom edge of the primer sled to allow for some residue. This way it does not cause near as many problems.

I took a old spent primer caps and epoxied them to a 1/8" brass rod, 1 small,1 large on each end. I use this to align the primer pickup. Some time you can feel drag when not align perfectly that you can't see.

I think I got the primer issue resolved. They ship this press almost fully assembled, yet their directions act as if you are assembling every part. That bent arm, it seems, is supposed to sit in the little piece at the bottom (which it wasn't). Once in there, primer assy seems to line up perfectly. Now to tackle the powder area!
Thanks for all of your help so far. I know once this is set up and tweaked, I am going to love reloading pistil over my old RCBS Jr. single stage. I do regret selling my Dillon 550 years ago when I moved.

This is an excellent idea now you need to post this on "clever tips and ideas" to help the masses. Post photos it helps.

If you go back and rewatch the video you will find he recommended that the primer slide should go just "past dead center.

That "little piece at the bottom" is called the 'Breakaway cam plunger". When cleaning your press make sure you clean the spring that it sits in from debris to ensure it works.
