That 6 o'clock on the last two pics looks very wrong.
Likely did not have any direct effect upon your case failure but may be indicative of a Friday-afternoon gun in general with more than one gremlin in the works.
As a manufacturer - I'd have wanted that returned so I could take it out of circulation if only for reputation's sake.
Any of the non-split cases exhibiting bulging? Roll them on a flat surface and compare to unfired cases as well.
I don’t know y’all. I think if this was my rifle I’d quit messing with it and wait for feedback from Hornady.
If it turns out to be defective ammo and it damaged my chamber I’d want them to fix it. Better to leave it the way it was after the incident, in unmolested condition.
