LR Tuner

I have been searching for a tuner for my CZ 452 American and the more I read, more I get confused. Anyone using a tuner and have any knowledge about where I should start?

I guess U all are not going to spend the dollar for a small result?? I'm with U, the tuner on a heavy barrel is not the best result for a buck, but I though I would ask the question

Harmonics are developed as each round is fired and will change the position of the muzzle just enough to open up groups. The higher the bullet's velocity and the heavier the bullet, the more harmonics can move the muzzle. Harmonics are fairly predictable …. meaning if you use match grade ammo with very tight velocity spreads, same bullet weights (brand and style too) and bench rest your rifle properly, the muzzle will rotate about the same with each shot fired, thus a tight group. Worst case is when your ammo has a high velocity spread …. typically more than 50 fps from fastest to slowest in a 10 shot string. Match grade ammo velocity spreads are often in single digits. A tuner is weight that is at the end of the barrel to try and reduce the harmonics, movement of the barrel and improve the group size. The barrels on the CZ's are thick enough that most folks don't try them because of the net results that they would receive. I was asking if anyone has used them on CZ rifles in the 22LR, and if they have good results? On pistols the same theory is there but never heard of any being used on a pistol?? Remember there is a lot more to the tuner then this reply, I'm touching the water here

I guess with the .750" starting size for most of the tuners, I would have to mill a adaptor for my barrel size .578" to .568" to fit the .750" tuner. I have heard if U spend the time, they will move your groups around, but decreasing the group size is the big ten dollar question??

I took my CZ 452 American with the Weaver T36 out to 100 yards yesterday, and shot some Norma Tac-22, which had great chronograph numbers and then shot Eley Club. Finished off with a box of SK Std. +. Boy that is a lot of fun but, found out I need a sway brace to stop the rear bench movement, that 36 power scope fells everything ..

This target shooting is all I will ever do and I'm happy with my CZ results, all three of my CZ's shoot better then I aim Now after all my research I think the tuner isn't a good option for my rifles. Money spent for ammo will be a better move. Here in Rapid City we don't have a rifle range so I have to set up in the forest when I want to shoot, which takes about a half hour, still a great sport and the chronograph lets u see what the ammo was doing for each shot and group My wife thinks I'm crazy but when she retires I'm going to get her behind a CZ in the forest and I know she will love it..
