Colt's Cobra: Verdict?

I bought one last year and I was hoping for a 3" barrel this year. I do not see enough differace in the one I bought last year to justify buying the new model.

Colt has a third Cobra out, and it has a polished, shiny stainless finish for folks who like shiny stuff, but wasn’t something I wanted for EDC. Matte stainless and matte black work for me.

I just checked Colt’s website. Don’t see it. Where’s you find it?

The two Cobras I’ve handled didn’t have triggers as nice as a Kimber K6S so I passed on them. I do like their aesthetic though.

Shot mine again today. 24 shots, Two hand DA @10 yds with wadcutters. 3 1/4” .

Also shot a Ruger SP-101 .38 with the same ammo. The Ruger shot high for me, I think because the sights were tough to see. The fiber optic red front of the Cobra was worlds easier to pick out in the light of the indoor range than the low black ramp of the SP...

Stay safe!

I will wait till they bring out a 4 or 4.2 inch version, with the 4.2 inch being the better choice. I like to go to Canada and you need a gun with OVER 4 INCH BARREL. I know it is a stupid law, but it is what they have.

I would definitely buy another new Colt if offered in 4.2 barrel...they could market it as a remake of the “Viper” that came out in the late 70’s, early ‘80’s. Always wanted one but was too poor back then to afford one. Would be a great woods carry gun. Great lines. Used Vipers sell for obscene amounts of money now.

I would really like to see a Diamondback 4 or 4.2" version of the Cobra and eventually see it in .357 mag. I think it would fulfill a lot of my needs or wants.
