Looking for something odd in .38/.357

I would prowl armslist and find a converted Remington rolling block, 1892, or low wall. There are lots of them out there that people converted before it was a sin and it about halves their value. Bad for the collector, great for the shooter.

I bought the Navy lightning for my uncle when his wrist went out and he couldn't run his lever guns any more. It's a really fun gun. Be advised, nobody has updated their stock photos and they don't come in case colored any more. Just blue.

But for ecclictic I would have to say the revolver carbine.

Or a double rifle http://www.bradshawgunandrifle.com/Small_bore_double_rifle.php
But more realistically, how about the ruger 96 in 357? Or the bolt gun, the 77/357

I am almost finished making another barrel for one of my contenders, I chambered it 357 maximum it will see more 38 spl loads though.

Was exploding 12oz candy filled with water yesterday with it and a .22 hornet barrel using 30 grain vmax’s.

I also was going to suggest the pump action .357... I have always wanted one.

Y'all just cost me $2300. I just bought one in 357 mag and one in 45 colt (navy arms lightning rifles). All because of you people...FWIW there is a great deal from a seller on gun broker right now. Has 357 and 45 colt in both 20 and 24 inch barrel lengths. Cant wait to see them. But again...shame on all of you.;)

Looking to add something odd and eclectic in the above caliber. Purpose would be casual plinking. Wondering what is out there that isn't too collectable to shoot? Would be interested in a lever, single shot, slide action or possibly a revolver carbine. Just a fun range toy, no need to handle full power loads, just powder puff cast bullet loads. I might consider some of the older BP rounds such as .32-20 or .38-40 or .22 hornet as well.

My Rossi 92 in 357 is one of my most fun guns to shoot. Quiet too using a starting load with 38spl 158gr semi-wadcutters (mouse fart loading).

Never been a fan of the "mare's leg" platform. Not really a pistol, not really a rifle. I have .357 revolvers, and a .357 contender is a possibility, would come in handy for silhouette.
Not a fan of the mare's leg either. In fact when I see one, I feel like a potentially good rifle was robbed.

The Contender is "not really a pistol, not really a rifle" imo. But an excellent choice. Just a really REALLY solid choice. I posted earlier in a different thread on a gun I regret selling and my G2 was one of two (maybe three) guns I regret selling.

I have a lot more pistol barrels than rifle but in he past few years they spend more and more time configured as rifles.

How about an Encore count? I just got the scope rings and a bag of brass for my 357Max. Just looking at the brass, you can tell it's serious business. Plus 357mag and special compatibility!

I'll make the point again: if all of you interested in a .357 single shot will tell the guys at Henry Rifles so, perhaps they'll listen! They already have the platform; just need to build the barrels. Here's the link to their "Product Suggestion Box." They have already heard from me ...

We need Henry to offer a Double Rifle in some pistol and rifle calibers.
I want 2 shots.

I almost bid on it last night!
Actually I tried to place a bid on a 22mag/20ga that was more reasonably priced but my browser hiccup'd and I remembered I got a kid on the way. Took it as a sign.
A kid on the way? Sounds like an excuse to celebrate with a new gun, which is what I did a few months back. Bought my tikka right before my son was born.
