D74C57E0-F777-43A6-89EF-653866A35229.png I see some truly odd and sometimes flat out stupid auction errors, and they seem to be getting more common. Post them up if you see a good one. May we all have our daily chuckles.

Here is the spark of genius that got me going for this thread. I’m not sure what they are actually selling...

It happens about once a month on eBay. Someone selling a suppository mold as a bullet mold.

Yea I’ve seen some auctions I’m pretty sure are for 80% lowers. Not sure enough to buy one though, price is right if it is.

Then there’s all that solvent trap stuff and stuff that’s suppressor parts but isn’t. I don’t recall what they sell that stuff as at the moment.

I used to get a ton of deals before I had kids. I’d buy VW parts for sand rails and stuff. I was really into it deep so I knew what stuff was at a glance as well as street value. People were always listing up stuff they didn’t know what was. Best deal I ever got was some performance heads (the kind you build a 200+ HP bug motor with) that sell new for $1500 or so. I bought them for $80 with a dropped seat. Paid a friend with a machine shop a 30 pack of bud light to fix it. They are still in service 10 years later. Kinda miss having time to do it. Most the parts I bought I sold. Wouldn’t usually touch anything unless it was half or less. what I could sell it for. I had a lot of misspelled searches I’d do daily.

Some of the "mistakes" are intentional, to get around ebay listing rules. Not in this case, though.

You are correct. I have sold some AR parts on eBay. List them as 223 and 5.56. Got busted for trying to sell 5 round HK91 magazines. Now I am on their watch list:)
Funny how they let their power sellers get away with stuff the random seller gets busted for. Example. I tried to sell the complete lower internals for a Glock. I got a 30 day timeout.
Meanwhile Magpul is selling the entire Gun minus the Frame. Literally the box, magazines, slide and complete lower parts kit and they get away with it

It’s a lawyer deal. Magpul probably hires their lawyer to tell Ebay how they actually are within the terms. In your case eBay just boots your add. Wife runs into the same on Etsy. If someone flags your designs as copywrite infringement you have to have a lawyer prove it’s not to keep it up. John Deere is the worst, they will flag anything with a green tractor. Doesn’t matter if it’s not even their colors. Pretty hard to use a lawyer to keep an item up that sells for $5 10x a year.

Regarding Ebay, I see quite a few standard capacity magazines coyly represented as the Ebay-mandated 10-rounders. The witness holes give the game away to the knowledgeable. Mind you, I'm not complaining. I find it emblematic of anti ignorance.
