I lent my RCBS 10-10 scale to a relative and when I got it back the doubling weight was missing. When I asked him where it was the canned answer was, " what weight? " I looked all over the NET to find one but no one was selling them so I wrote RCBS asking where I could buy one. As per form I got an email telling me one was on order for me and there would be no charge.

By now I feel these reports are not necessary because it is their normal but I don't want to ignore their above normal CS. I really did try to buy one before I wrote them but the part just wasn't available anywhere. I don't think there is another company today who will send you parts of make repairs on their products even when you tell them it's your fault and not theirs. They have my everlasting loyalty.

Dillon has customer service just as good, if not better, as RCBS. Companies that have great customer service such as RCBS and Dillon know that this is the way to do business. Business that will repeat itself.

There is a saying in retail. If a customer gets good service he will tell 5 people. If he gets bad service he will tell 10.

A couple years ago I broke a decapping pin. When I called RCBS the guy asked how long I'd been using that die. When I told him 40 years he laughed out loud and said I was due. Sent me a packet of 10 pins free. I've had excellent customer service with all the major companies selling reloading equipment including Lyman, RCBS, and Dillon

Even Lee has pretty good CS. Since so many makers in this market have decided to hang their hats on quality CS it's hard to compete without fairly liberal policies.

So far I have only had experiences with RCBS. I started reloading after a long time away. I am using an OLD single stage RS and had lost some parts over the years. When I called RCBS to buy replacement parts they sent without charge. I know the other companies have good CS but in my limited experience RCBS has really good CS.

If Dillon thinks you have been asking for enough parts to assemble a second press to sell on eBay they make you send the press at your cost for repair. They know what parts fail so it starts to look obvious.

Then you post negative comments about Dillon customer service... I saw a forum thread where it was pretty clear the complainer abused their patience. So they cut them off from the feed trough.

People will take advantage and everyone else suffers. LL Bean had to change their warranty policy because many were taking advantage of them. From what I have seen all of the reloading manufactures have really good CS.

RCBS fan too, 45 years worth. I will buy another brand when I need something they don't make. My latest green buys? Pro Chucker 7 with Case Feeder and the new really neat Tube Rifle Bullet Feeder.....was not disappointed.

Funny about timing of this thread....was using my universal hand priming tool. The spring post on bottom plate broke. One email and new bottom plate is on the way. RCBS:thumbup::thumbup:

Change that last part to "they will post bad crap online for millions to see, even if the company is not at fault"

I have been using RCBS stuff for over 35 years - still have and use my original Jr and 510 scale. Used to own their Grand shotshell press where certain parts are designed to break to avoid pres damage - they have never questioned when I called for spare parts, including ordering multiples of a few of them. Always shipped immediately and for free.

It's too bad car companies, computer companies, cable companies and insurance companies don't have the same attitude and service.

Only have experience with RCBS, Redding and Lee. RCBS and Redding are absolutely outstanding. Lee is good as long as you fall into there warranty period.

I know reloading companies for experience have good CS. On another forum one of the gurus unleashed a rant on RCBS for poor CS. Consequently, I sent in a piece of reloading gear dated from the early 1970's. It was a sizing die. Got the die back with new decapping assembly in a polished die. Also included was data on the die. I was assured that it was in spec and usable as is. This was earlier this year. As gurus usually do he came up with another generation of whoppers. Several years before I had a RC and Uniflow powder measure missing parts. Parts sent without charge. Ditto a case trimmer. On a Dillon I had broken a replacement part-serious screw up. Dillon replaced the part for the second time. On and on. OT: but there is one scope company that is right in there with the reloading companies.

My only reservation on RCBS is with electric gadgets. I had a RCBS electric power measure that got damaged. Neither RCBS or the maker of the scales, the problem part, would help. It would appear the companies had a bitter divorce.

The other side of the story: I was loading lead bullets into 308. The expander plugs in my RCBS sizer die was for a .308. This was not good. Called RCBS and was sent at no charge a .311 expander ball assembly-the whole thing. Worked great. Right now I've got to replace a .264 expander ball from a sizing die. I'm betting this will be another situation like most of us have shared.

In general there are no extended warranties on electronic items because the user could blow it up lol. I'm a little surprised they didn't make it right anyway but your explanation about the company split might explain that.

The warranty was not in the discussion. The RCBS did direct me to the instructions on the website. But was given no help by RCBS or PACT. It did sound like an unhappy divorce. Both company reps were courteous but firm as in no further discussion. As it stands I need to call RCBS back on the .264 expander ball as all the reps were out to lunch. In the meantime I'm gonna stick with the Dial-a-Grain for the duration.

I didn't mean a literal written warranty.

Right, normally when I call RCBS a written warranty, or lack of, is not discussed. This situation was not different. The request for help was the primary focus. Unless asked, the answer is always "no." Incidentally, I'm needing to call back on Monday concerning the damaged expander ball. .I have no interest in anybody's electronic power measure. Having that measure was a fluke. Anything more complicated than replacing a 2032 battery is off the table. No comments on divorces. Had one of those. No warranty for sure.
