Hello THR,
I have a question for the more experienced folks.
When it comes to AR10s do you rather get a Diamond Back DB10 or a Palmetto State Armory PSA10?

Budget's $1000 for the gun (no scope)
Application: steel target shooting/hunting (hogs, deers & alligators)
Distance: 100-500 yards primary. But may try my luck at 700y max.
Note: 7.62 Nato/308 Win only.

Not PSA. Both brands have had problems. Diamond back has better customer service.

Just as an FYI - DB uses the DPMS magazine and barrel nut pattern, but the upper/lower receivers use the Armalite cut / form factor. That's not necessarily a terrible thing, but it is 'different' and you do have to know what you're getting into before you buy one, especially if you plan to upgrade the rifle or swap uppers/lowers.

The current PA10's are fully DPMS (low tang) compatible.

I have a DB10 that shoots sub moa easily. (with handloads worked up for it, never fired a round of factory) May be luck, but I’ve had good luck with both the diamondbacks I own.

It does have a trigger, different muzzle device, grip and stock on it now. I like the forgrip it came with. Barrel profile is just heavy enough not to get hot very quick.
I’ve not fondled the PSA 10, but I might have to try one next time funds permit. I’m a fan of their other offerings for the money.

My PSA's in .308 have all been worth every penny.

20rds DAG, 100yds... rapid'ish fired.

I would suggest a Adj. GB though... most all .308 AR's tend to be "overgassed "

Could you expand on this please?
I bought a PSA AR that had several small parts that were out of spec, I had to buy a different lower kit, then the bolt assembly was faulty it was to big and jammed, numerous calls and email resulted false promises and no help. I bought a new bolt assembly from a reputable company, BCM. A Diamondback pistol I bought jammed easily, The dealer sent it in and it was fully repaired and updated at no cost. So I avoid PSA.

PSA... I know that their first Gens had problems, but I've heard nothing but good reviews pretaining to their current offerings...
