Bucket list Revolvers

Colt New Sercice was also made in .44-40.

Look back a couple of pages and you will see my 45 Colt and 44-40 New Service revolvers.

S&W chambered a few 44 Hand Ejector 1st Models (the Triple Lock) for 44-40. Same with the 44 Hand Ejector 2nd Model. By the time the 44 Hand Ejector 3rd Model came out they stopped doing that.

The only Colt I can think of that was chambered for 44-40 was the New Service. Maybe more, but that's off the top of my head.

Merwin Hulbert chambered both their single action as well as their double action revolvers for 44-40, as well as 44 Russian and 44 Merwin Hulbert.

That's all I can think of right now.

I started with:
Colt Python 6"
S&W 29-1/29-2 6 1/2" (Dirty Harry)

I later ran into a Colt Model 1917 for a good price. It didn't make my list, but it's in my safe.
Maybe the Blackhawk SA .45 should have been on the list, but it's in my safe.

I came with a hair of buying a S&W commerative Classic. I just couldn't stomach $1,350 for a "fake".
The very next month, an ad popped up for a 1978 S&W 6 1/2" 29-2 for $800. Also in my safe.

There is no real active hunt for the Python, but when the right one comes along...
